Sounds about like my shoulder. Got up to go to the bathroom and tripped over the dog, slammed into the wall, broke my shoulder. Now what I tell everyone else how I broke my shoulder is a completly different story ("You should see the other guy").
MLB.com says he is 50-50. Astros may be playing games, but they have to announce the roster at 10 AM tomorrow. What bothers me is that he wasn't at today's workout with the other players. I agree, if he doesn't play, the Astros are in deep trouble.
Nah we can definitely beat the Tigers without him. Probably even the Guardians. Edit: And when I say can, I mean we are still favored. Astros currently -184 to win this series.
Contreras would be an excellent get for the Astros. He can play LF/1st/DH and C… he is a solid 120+ OPS+ bat and probably capable of more if he only catches occasionally. I still think it is very possible the Astros get a stop gap 3rd baseman like Ursala and target two bats to make up the difference.
Sorry to read this. And aging makes it tougher. Been feeling that myself somewhat lately. Hope you heal quickly.
If you sort the Astros pitchers by xfip this season (min 10 ip), the top 9 guys made it. Ort was 10th, the only guys who made it over him with a worse xfip are Arrighetti and Blanco. This roster follows the numbers.
Among pitchers with >10ip, Ferguson has the 4th best xfip on the team. Xfip adjusts for luck and fielding.
