Not sure I see much in the Heyward signing. 3 of the last 4 years Hayward has been bad all the way around, and his one good year he overperformed his peripherals. He hasn't hit RHP well either like Gamel, so he's doesn't even feel like a platoon candidate. He's probably better than Chaz right now...so there's that. But he would be behind Meyers,Gamel,Yordan,Whitcomb and Tucker if he comes back. Maybe he has a little lightning left in the bottle, but in totality he's been terrible for a while now with a sub .700 OPS the last 4 years. He still plays a solid RF, but he's well removed from being the defensive weapon he once was.
Probably better than Chas? I think you mean definitely. He hit a PH 3 run bomb against Munoz recently. That’s more than Chas has done all season.
