That's a very informative article, with doctors!, that mirrors what has been said here for the past 2 months.
Are peptides considered a PED in baseball? BPC 157 and TB 500 have been miracles for my significant injuries.
Yes, as far as I know. Your peptides were pretty integral to the whole BALCO scandal, iirc. eta [deleted]: hold on, that was the MILB drug agreement...let me look for the MLB one (no idea if there's any difference) eta2: here ya go, from 2022 Anabolic androgenic steroids, hormones, and agents with antiestrogenic activity, that may not be lawfully obtained or used in the United States (including, for example, “designer steroids” and peptide hormones) also shall be considered Performance Enhancing Substances irrespective of whether they are covered by Schedule III. https://www.mlbplayers.com/jda
Astros top prospect’s struggles forcing team to keep playing ghost of Chas McCormick For all of the decisions the Houston Astros have made with playing time this season, few have been as puzzling as their stubborn insistence on playing Chas McCormick. Instead of playing the strictly better option in Joey Loperfido before he was traded, the Astros just kept running McCormick out there expecting him to do something. For their patience, McCormick has rewarded Houston with a .575 OPS, including a tragic .468 mark since the beginning of July. When Melton was promoted to Triple-A late in July, the hope was that he would make a strong case for a big league promotion. He entered the 2024 season as Houston's top prospect thanks to his tantalizing blend of power and speed, and it sure as hell hasn't been as if McCormick has done anything to block his ascension. Unfortunately, Triple-A hasn't been kind to Melton so far. In his 13 games since getting bumped up to the top levels of the minors, Melton is slashing just .204/.316/.347 with one homer and 17 strikeouts in 58 plate appearances. Given Melton's high profile as a prospect, it feels extremely likely that he may have been given a chance in the big leagues if he had shown a bit more than that. https://climbingtalshill.com/posts/...-playing-ghost-of-chas-mccormick-01j4vppygyh3
Agreed. The article needed to focus on the overall poor performance of the entire outfield since Tucker's injury. And, Melton was never an option to be promoted once he failed to get to AAA 2/3 of the way through the season. Dezenzo is only here because he can play 1b and there are so few options. There are several OF options.
I'm not expecting him to come back but it would be funny if a player who was thought to be out for the season came back while the 2 players who we thought would be back mid season didn't.
How Astros are informing fans about Tucker's situation sounds like there's no medical experts involved. They just ask him once a week is he better (or still salty about last arb.) and burp something random through media. "He might or not might be having the runs but still not running, walking or crawling but he might swim next week on bases and we would be disappointed if he doest answer our texts next week either. Actually we are too afraid to tell Crane what's up. All good. "
Nah… they’re just not obligated to say **** to the media/fans regarding injury (unlike other pro sports leagues). So they give the bare minimum without having to make people upset… but in the process just seems to be making people more upset.
