With Springer heating up now, I wouldn't mind if the Astros traded McCormick for him. 2 years left on his contract after this year, can still hit in spots and can take over for Tucker when he leaves in 2026 for that 1 year. This works perfectly with the Astros timeline. Oh and get Scherzer, if anything to stop another team from getting him and beating us in the playoffs. Bring him home Crane
No.we need to re-sign Tucker for 8 years 240m if he’ll take it. I’d even go higher. He, Altuve, Alvarez, Diaz, Pena, and whoever steps up will make us contenders for the next 3 years and beyond. Alvarez will probably leave after his contract, because we won’t be able to Re- sign him. We have very little hope for anyone to be like Alvarez, but Tucker can be.
1) I would be shocked if Springer doesn't have an agreement w/ Toronto that they will not trade him to the Astros. Most likely an agreement to keep him in Eastern/North Eastern part of continent if he is ever traded. The Astros are probably listed by name. 2) I don't see Texas trading w/ the Astros. They don't want their fans seeing former Rangers play ( and possibly win) w/ the Astros. 3) I hope they go out of their way to avoid guys over 32-33 years old. No thank you.
They can afford both Tucker and Alvarez. I mean they're paying Abreu 30 mil to not play for them and are going toet Bregs, JV walk. They've got the money, it's not like they're a small market team Hopefully Vlad and Steele or Lorenzen are future Stros.
