    Jack Yonezuka (West Long Branch, NJ / NYAC / Cranford JKC / 73 kg)
    John Jayne (Chicago, IL / 90 kg)

    US Judo doesn't have trials anymore so these athletes had to win enough points through international competition to qualify and on top of that the US didn't qualify for several weight classes nor for the team competition. Unfortunately the team is weak this year and aren't likely to medal.

    On a personal note. I've coached against Delgado and she once gave one of my collegiate players a concussion.

    I think “Husein Bolt” retired because of the all the negative connotations with his name in political circles. ;)

    Y'all need to include Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone on your watch lists. She is quite possibly the most gifted runner the US has (and possibly in the world). She breaks the world record damn-near every time in the 400m hurdles, decided to run the straight 400m and beat the world's best at that - ran the 10th fastest women's 400m in history, and not too long ago decided to run the 200m where she reeled in a first place finish against a solid 200m field that included some of the premier 200m specialists like Gabby Thomas, Britney Brown, Abby Steiner, etc. The closest thing I can think of recently to her would be someone like Fred Kerley, but I don't think he's on the level of each of his events quite like Sydney's been running lately. This lady destroys competition. I think in the Olympics, she's just going to concentrate on the 400m hurdles, though.

    Let's hope after being seasoned, they don't get cooked. Hopefully Embiid puts up 70 on the French Towers. It's kind of frightening to think Embiid considered joining that squad at one point.

    With the Olympics just a few weeks away, I've been checking this out on Netflix. A lot of the top medal contenders, record holders, etc., and thier trip to the World Championships.

    Yep. When I coached against Delgado that was more than 10 years ago. At 33 this probably her last shot at Olympics

    GREAT race! from Asher-Smith's brilliant start to Gabby Thomas clutch late surge.

    easily the best 200m race this year. Gabby Thomas is hot as hell!

    she is still toast to a healthy Shericka Jackson ...
