Highest paid quarterback in the lead.
Not impressed. Love seeing them start out 0-2.

The Patriots winning like they are is only cementing the idea that the Hoodie and his merry band of sycophant loser assistant coaches will never be coaching in the NFL again. Mayo has the same exact team and has them playing with passion.

    also lol

It wasn't the Bill Belichick culture, it was the Brady culture. When you have a guy that accomplished that much working the way he does, the rest of the team will buy in. Do you think Moss checked his attitude for Bill or for Brady?

A lot of highly paid QBs off to bad starts. Of the top 10 QBRs in the league, only Kyler Murray is top 10 in Average Annual value (he's 10th).

Passing yards are down in general, but its only 2 weeks.

Yeah but even last year only two guys out of 19 with 3,000 or more yards had a lower RTG than Lawrence. In my opinion paying him more than any other QB in the league is stupid on Jacksonville's part.

Started looking for a trade well before his rookie season ended or refused to pay him a salary he wasn't worth, like smart teams do. Why should a guy who was 17th in RTG of 19 guys with 3,000 yards or more expect to be paid more than anyone? Because he thinks he's the best and he's not, just like big headed Watson was.

Anyone see that posts from the Lions fans that’s floating around Twitter?

Two dudes laying outside the stadium. Murdered.

Don’t run your mouth at a sporting event. Some crazy person might end your life.

"Why should should a guy...be paid..."? C'mon now, you could say that about so many guys in the NFL it's crazy.

The Jags decided it was better to overpay Trevor and hope he improves than to get another QB, which would set back their franchise several years (much worse than his contract would). That's the leverage QBs have now.

Most of the time it's the correct decision, IMO, but not always. For example, I blasted the NYG when they paid Daniel Jones. He clearly cannot process well enough to be a starting QB. He is the poster boy of a backup QB with a very limited ceiling.

I mean it's like if Jalen said he wanted to be the highest paid guard in the NBA this summer and the Rockets said, OK, even if he hadn't proved he could be the best down the road. I'd be pissed off.

I do understand what you mean except the leverage of NFL QB's is unique right now. Jags and Cowboys needed to strike while the Rockets can wait another year because Jalen is far easier to replace than an NFL team starting from scratch at QB. Rockets can jettison Jalen and bet on free agency next summer or package him with picks and other players for a legit star in February.

So do you think that now every QB up for contract who was in the top 17 should get paid more than any other QB in the league?

No. Never said that. Despite the general trend, circumstances will vary some. Trevor & Dak had both of their teams over a barrel.

Trevor's contract did not surprise me because there were rumors on Twitter the previous two months he would become the top paid QB in the NFL before the season started. DId Jordan Love deserve $55M for a very short period of excellent play? Did Tua earn a top 4 contract? I think most of us knew Dak would end up on top after he waited.

It won't be leapfrog to a new high every time someone gets extended but more QBs are gonna ride this gravy train and get "overpaid".

The contract I questioned the most was Tua's.

I can't believe how that ended. Saquon drops a gimme, the Eagles defense just lays down and then Hurts blows their chance with terrible throw when they're within 10 yards of a game-winning FGA.

As I've said for 20+ years: Prevent defenses prevent defenses from winning. Someone tell me what the vaunted Vic Fangio was thinking on the Falcons last drive.
