The only reason people think this is because he went to Ohio State. As someone pointed out, if Stroud went to Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, etc...he would have been the #1 rated QB in the draft....easily. This whole OSU bias is just dumb.

It wasn’t a stupid play. It’s one on one under extreme pressure, not many guys can even get the ball there

Sanders looked really good against a TCU defense that has been uncharacteristically dogsh!t terrible going back to last season. He's definitely someone to watch going forward.

BS…Stroud throws that pass and you’re talking about how it should have been intercepted.

As soon as I seen that play I knew you would say this.

No I wouldn’t. I’m never going to be mad at a true 50/50 ball.
Stroud couldn’t make that play anyway

I would rather have a team built that needs a QB, Like Rodgers and the Jets than do what the Texans have done. Remember the Texans/Jets rebuild basically started at the same time. Some people play chess, the other people are apparently named McNair. SMH, dysfunction is less, but it's still there.

Nope, the fact he's never won a big game in his life is what bothers me the most.

    Agreed,

They do this when every 3- 4 yrs there's a good QB class is coming out and the 2024 QB class is special. There will be 3-4 of those guys that become long time starters. Tell me how I'm supposed to think when Williams/Maye/ Sanders/McCarthy/Nix are tearing it up this weekend, meanwhile as a Texans fan I'm stuck with I hope Stroud doesn't get killed or crap the bed.

Joy, but NRG is sold out the 1st home game.

Michigan was a big game 2 yrs in a row.

    Georgia was a big game.

If the game isn't a conference championship game or a final 4 game and you haven't won in either of these situations, then yes, the juries still out and considering the amount of talent he had around him at OSU it should make fans go H'mmm but it wont.

Im not sure about the big game angle. I don’t recall Mahomes or Josh Allen winning big games in college and look at them now.

If Stroud had their talent it would be a conversation

Their teams were so bad that they didn't play in big games. It's not the same as playing at OSU as it is playing at Wyoming or Tech.

Nobody knew Mahomes was Michael Jordan. If they did he wouldn’t have gone 10th. It took Josh Allen about 3 yrs. Give Stroud time first

Um, Georgia. He put them in the position to when and the coach made dumb play calls and made the FG longer. CJ played a good chunk of that 2nd half with Harrison Jr..
As for Michigan, you are blaming him for the defense ******** the bed? LOL.

Aside from Williams, CJ is just as talented, if not more. You think a QB must run to be mobile. Look at Shedeur Sanders rushing numbers. He can move, but doesn't run.

Stroud is nowhere near as physically gifted as Mahomes or Allen.
Williams, Maye, Sanders, Nix and several others in this draft are far more physically gifted.
It’s not just about running. It’s athleticism in general

He might get there as a QB. He still just doesn’t have the physical abilities those two have, that’s just the facts.

So basically our entire franchise any year we won the division? We have literally tried the “build everything except QB” method multiple times. And we sucked. Then we got Watson and had a glimmer of hope. You want Will Anderson to be the next JJ Watt? Hall of fame career with nothing to show for it? Let’s just see how the draft next year plays out before we say what we are missing out on..
