Bryce is a much better mover than Stroud, better arm/launch angles and ability to play off script. With the same ability to play in the pocket and make reads. He’s small, but he’s a much better athlete than Stroud
Another interesting, and honest question.... Would you rather have Joe Burrow or say... Ryan Tannehill? And yes, I know I'm being purposely facetious to prove a point, but the point is that there are a lot more examples of busty to mediocre quarterbacks that had superior physical traits than there are that had elite football traits (I'm talking processing or accuracy type traits).
Another interesting, and honest question.... Would you rather have Joe Burrow or say... Ryan Tannehill or Tim Tebow? And yes, I know I'm being purposely facetious to prove a point, but the point is that there are a lot more examples of busty to mediocre quarterbacks that had superior physical traits than there are that had elite football traits (I'm talking processing or accuracy type traits). The mediocre quarterbacks, like Tannehill, are what get you into trouble in this league, in a certain sense.
I wasn't comparing the two. The point was let's not judge quarterback prospects as much on their physical traits. And if we are, like I said, CJ is far superior. And because I'm lazy, do we really know that Bryce is a better athlete? I don't want to look it up. If I recall, neither really tested much athletically...
Of course it’s Burrow, Burrow isn’t a slouch athletically either though. He’s also proven he processes faster than others with the ability to play off script. Stroud is accurate, but we have no idea if he has the ability to process fast. All signs point to not being able to. Hopefully he does have that ability and he could be a poor man’s Burrow/Kirk Cousins or top out around Matt Ryan
CJ is not far superior to Bryce athletically. Not even close. He has a bigger body and a stronger arm. But he moves nowhere near Bryce, he’s not as agile, fast, quick or has the arm elasticity that Bryce has
I meant physical traits purely, not athletic ability. Once again, being facetious here, but just goes to show there's much more in judging these guys.
Stroud I see having up and down games as rookie. The interceptions will happen but it's all a part of the process to grow and get better.
Appears to be some great to good WR talent in this year's draft. With CFB on, figure we could crank this thread back up. Will be interesting to see how these rack-n-stacks change as we progress through the year. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2024-nfl-draft-prospect-watchlist/ https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2024-nfl-draft-board-big-board https://www.si.com/nfl/draft/news/2...-caleb-williams-marvin-harrison-jr-drake-maye https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft...ks-caleb-williams-drake-maye-headline-top-50/
Just finished watching TCU get beat by my youngest son's school. Deon's son is legit... https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4432762/shedeur-sanders Really fun game to watch.
If Caserio is picking say 6th or 7th, Bowers would be my pick. Then if a guy like Worthy/Nabers or the dude from Washington are available late in the 1st rd, I'm trading up to get him. I know they're small, but putting Tank/Worthy and Bowers out there would have the makings of a lethal offense. Get the OL healthy and spend money on a difference making LG in FA and this would give Stroud his best chance of succeeding. I look for Worthy to have a big season now that his hand's healthy and Ewers has gotten some experience.
Shedeur Sanders seems to be the most impressive QB of the day! Very accurate and made.plays when it counted.
