I would cut Howard and use his savings along with Mason cut savings to bring in one vet OG/ 2 WR's and a S in FA. Draft one IOL and one WR/TE.

nasty cap hit if you cut Howard. Caserio is going to have to be creative if he’s going to solve for too much money in our tackles.

I see the most likely scenario that everyone is back and we look to coaching to solve our problems.

this is the right answer except cutting Howard doesn’t save much. Would rather keep him and be 3 deep at tackle but do the rest you’ve outlined. Restructure Nico and Al Shair to create the room needed.

Post June 1st is around 11 million.

I could be wrong on this, I'm not a cap guy.

First, I am not pro cutting Howard. I would move him back to RT and let Fisher play swing T next year. Just my humble opinion.

Second, post June 1 cut is ~$9M in dead $$$ with $14M in cap savings. IIRC the problem with a post June 1 cut is that $$$ goes for next year's cap predominately.

Plus, it would make way more sense to trade Howard than to just cut him. But again, I would keep Howard and play him at RT.

Cutting him would free up <$2M because of his dead cap hit. I suppose deferring the dead cap into future years sounds good if you don't want sustained success.

Considering he can play tackle and guard, I doubt BDN cuts him. He views that versatility as priceless.
I've seen Kaplan recently have Howard as one of the most likely candidates to get traded.

I'm quite disappointed that many so called sports journalists don't even take the time to update the situation from before last year. One wants us to take Chubb because Pierce was no longer RB1 like last year and MIXON never happened.

The latest I've heard speculated about is a starting OL of:

LT - Tunsil; LG - Scruggs; C - Patterson; RG - Howard; RT - Fisher

But who knows what the new OC and OL coach will decide?

I think there is zero chance of Howard being cut. His run blocking is poor but his pass protection is good.

If that's the case then I predict that our OL will be in the bottom 10 of the league in 25'.

agree. This is the way. Historically Tunsil and Howard miss several games per year so Fisher will get his opportunity to start (and if he plays well enough never give it back). I expect Howard to be a cap casualty after next year to make way for a then experienced Fisher.

I'm hoping Howard is a June 1st cap casualty this year.

Look at how the Eagles structure their contracts as a reference.

If they could trade him, that would be ideal.

Post june 1st cutting Howard/Mason would allow Caserio the money to add 1 fairly big ticket player in FA, or 3 mid/lower salary guys. I'm not a fan of Howard's, never have been. A big mistake by Caserio.

Nobody will want him. He's a mistake.
