Demeco fist pumped while on the phone with him.. I trust demeco’s excitement. It was the same with WAJ.
My hope is Lassiter can become Nnamdi Asomugha lite. A guy that doesn't generate a lot of eye-popping stats (INTs) but can still be a shutdown corner and have a huge impact on the field.
John Harris: " Who scored the only TD in the last playoff game? Sims. He is 4.4 guy and Lassiter was on his hips on every route. He stood out. Doesn't look like a rookie."
33. Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia Final ranking: No. 62 Where he was drafted: No. 42 (Houston Texans) Lassiter was the quintessential “trust the tape” prospect. On his film last summer, he looked like a potential first-rounder. But his lack of top-end speed was a question mark, and his 4.6 40-yard dash didn’t help answer that concern. Nonetheless, the Texans might look smart for this pick.
I'm hoping Okudah can play to his talent level and stay healthy. Lassiter would make an awesome slot CB.
As much as we were so concerned that Lassiter was just plan B after all the good DTs were drafted ahead of us, it's good news to hear that the guy we selected could be the real deal. Still early, obviously, but maybe, just maybe BDN and Demeco know what they are doing.
