What do y'all think a trade for Tristan Casas might look like?

    Arrighetti and Dombrowski for Casas?

Probably fair. Arrighetti is more valuable than Casas but young pitching tends to get discounted due to injury risk.

I think the Yankees will make a push for Walker, Bellinger, and Bregman.

What would a trade of Tucker for Robert look like? Straight up?

No chance. White Sox have no reason to want Tucker.

I’ll do hypotheticals for the 2 teams I think are the best/most likely fits for Tucker and Framber:

    Astros get:
    SS Aiden Miller
    OF Justin Crawford
    3B Alex Bohm

    Phillies get:
    OF Kyle Tucker

    Astros get:
    IF/OF Coby Mayo
    LF Heston Kjerstad
    C Creed Willems

    Orioles get:
    SP Framber Valdez

If we could get Mayo and Kjerstad for Framber, I’d do that all day.

Yep, and then trade Tucker to Boston for Anthony/Teel/Casas.

    1.Altuve
    2. Alvarez
    3. Diaz
    4. Casas
    5. Kjerstad
    6. Mayo
    7. Anthony
    8. Pena
    9. Teel
    10. Dezenzo

    Brown/Blanco/Arrighetti/JV/Garcia/Blubaugh/Gusto

    Hader/Abreu/Scott/Ort/Whitley/King

That's a pretty good young team with good pitching. I actually could see Dana signing another reliever or putting Garcia in the bullpen and signing a SP in FA.

I would have to get a complex ball player of our choosing to be named later from each team in addition to those you named. We have to have learned something from Luhnow

    https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/twins-receiving-calls-regarding-carlos-correa.html

I really wonder how open the Twins are to trading Correa. The Astros are likely one of the few teams he’d be open to waiving his NTC for. His $33M AAV is high but only has 4 years left, and his vesting options are extremely affordable, so they operate as a positive. Despite his injury history, Correa probably has quite a bit of surplus value. Getting Correa back surely would take the sting out of losing Bregman, especially from the fans’ perspective.

    Astros get:
    SS Carlos Correa

    Twins get:
    P AJ Blubaugh
    OF Luis Baez
    P Miguel Ullola
    P Forrest Whitley

That may not be nearly enough in the context of what free agents are getting this offseason, but it does represent 3 of Houston’s top 10 prospects in exchange for an oft-injured player entering his 30s on the back end of a large free agent contract.

I saw a guy on Twitter/X last night claiming to have a source with the Cubs indicating the Astros and Cubs had preliminary discussions regarding a Tucker trade. No idea if the guy is legit or not but it got me thinking of them as a possible destination. From the Cubs point of view they'd likely need to be pretty sure they'd be able to sign Tucker long-term. But he threw out Bellinger, Owen Caissie, and Cade Horton as names in a hypothetical trade.

I think I'd lean pretty heavily toward doing that deal. Especially if you're bringing Bregman back.

I would consider it an epic fail if Houston trades away Kyle Tucker in order to clear payroll to overpay Alex Bregman.

I wonder if there is some iteration of a 3 way trade that ships out Hader and brings in Correa. With whoever you acquire for Hader getting shipped to the Twins with Correa and possibly more coming to Houston.

Then you could keep Pressly and/or look at other relief options on the market to close or be a 7th/8th inning guy.

Not a bad idea, although my understanding is that 3 way trades involving multiple large contracts are incredibly hard to get over the finish line.

Adding Correa opens up some other paths for Houston to improve their roster. They could trade Pena for a big return in a SS-starved market, then play a bottom-of-the-order hitter at 3B. They could trade Tucker to shed payroll and improve the farm, then add in a lesser OF via trade to make up most of the offense.

Hypothetical for the 2 teams Morosi mentioned as in on Tucker:

    Astros get:
    SS George Lombard Jr.
    IF/OF Oswaldo Cabrera
    OF Trent Grisham
    OF Brando Mayea
    2B Roc Riggio
    P Brendan Beck

    Yankees get:
    OF Kyle Tucker
    OF Taylor Trammell

    Astros get:
    IF Matt Shaw
    OF/1B Cody Bellinger
    IF Jefferson Rojas
    OF Owen Caissie
    $5M (2025)

    Cubs get:
    OF Kyle Tucker
    P Ryan Pressly

Cubs are not a team that will overspend on contracts either so them giving up anything of real value for Tucker would seem pointless. Unless they plan on flipping him at the trade deadline.
