Taiwan is getting hit by a Typhoon right now. It just weakened from Super Typhoon level. Like the Atlantic Hurricane Season this is very late for a major storm in this region.
They named the ****er "King Kong" (Kong-Rey)? What did they expect would happen? More seriously...hope your people and everyone else make it through alright, and that goes for everybody everywhere. Weather is crazy and getting crazier.
Thanks for asking. My family is safe as none of them live in the area where the Typhoon made landfall. Thankfully that area is one of the less populated regions in Taiwan. Like what happened though in NC from Helene the rain could be a big problems in the Mountains and Taiwan has previously had very disastrous floods in the mountains.
I looked on the Internet a bit and some have it becoming a Hurricane (Rafael) for a few days and then drop back down to a Tropical Storm as it makes landfall. Still early, so the Cone is rather large with Louisiana being in the Center while Mississippi and Texas are on the edges of the Cone.
This season could have one of the earliest ever tropical storms to make landfall and one of the latest.
