Lots to be digested tonight and into tomorrow. The cone keeps creeping towards the Houston/Galveston area and has been for several days now. Beryl just doesn’t want to do what models are spitting out. Especially on the intensity side, this thing looks to be bombing out again.. even if it were to hit down in Corpus or Rockport, HGX would see impacts
The wind speeds will drop as it goes over the Yucatan Peninsula, but the forward speed has dropped which will allow it more time to strengthen in the GOM as it approaches the Texas Coast.
I just need some dam rain for my lawn.................would not mind a little dirty side hurricane to dump a few inches on HTown
Even if Beryl doesn't make landfall near Houston this thing looks like it could be a really big rainmaker. I would be concerned about flooding.
If you are in the Houston area (and obviously points south and west) I'd start preparing now. Pretty significant shift Northward on the Euro model and that is a bad sign for Houston. Beryl has been riding the northern part of the "cone" for days and nothing appears to stop that now. I wouldn't be shocked if this thing ended up closer to Freeport at this rate. Time will tell but better to have supplies now than to deal with the chaos once the local news goes ballistic about it.
