I saved a lot of money on a Russian made generator that runs on mazut and only requires service every 20 years. It's called a Sernaya Gorelka and is the AK-47 of generators.
I'm one of those that doesn't understand it. My issue is that while the early tracks had it going into northern Mexico/southern TX, it seems like they were saying the entire time that there is a good chance it turns east and heads closer to Houston. That kept happenning little by little every day last week. It feels like they could've been a lot more proactive. Granted, in my area, a light breeze or if a squirrel farts in the general direction of a transformer, we lose power. I got power back, thankfully, yesterday evening...literally about an hour after seeing more bull*** "reports" from someone's sister's brother's boyfriend's mother-in-law's cousin's tax attorney who said it'll be next week because they either haven't gotten paid or there weren't the replacement parts. I was going to lose my mind if I had to stay at my in-laws for another 5 days. They're great people but it would've been difficult to stay sane.
Is the Adams Mark hotel still there, around Westheimer/Gessner? Couple of times when the AC unit would crap out, or power outage or whatever, that was our refuge to get a night of sleep.
Second Nazi: (regarding the Allies) Their symbols are all quite nice! Stars, stripes, lions, sickles... Hans: What's so good about a sickle? Second Nazi: Well, nothing, and if there's one thing we've learned in the last thousand miles of retreat it's that Russian agriculture is in dire need of mechanisation. Hans: Tell me about it.
To me, as soon as it gets into the gulf of Mexico, it is more likely than not will go toward Houston or New Orleans zone. The hurricane needs to have already land in Florida or Central America to rule out the possibility of the Hurricane not hitting Houston. Once it's in the Gulf of Mexico, everybody needs to be mentally and physically prepare for the possibility of hitting Houston.
I think I remember somewhere in that complex had a model train/airplane store...I remember geeking out at that stuff (never ever bought anything, I just thought it all looked cool as hell)
Hey guys, do not pistol whip or threaten the centerpoint guy with your gun! I’m talkin to you Fort Bend County folks!!
I get the frustration, but why in the hell would you take it out on the guys who are trying to help you?
exactly, everyone is effected by this,The linesmen are being told what to do. Go after the higher ups not the foot soldiers. Idiots.
regular Inns in the barrio are charging $400 a night. $1,000 a night from 3 star hotels with no escort included. Price gouging to the extreme
