Adam Schiff has announced that he is going to run for Dianne Feinstein's seat in the Senate. Katie Porter has also said she will run and possibly some more Democrats might run. To note Dianne Feinstein hasn't announces she's not running but I doubt such a political insider like Schiff would announce if he didn't have very strong reason to believe that Feinstein wasn't running again.
Trump is the only one Biden can beat and Biden is a long time conservative Democrat who does not have the vision or the energy to lead on the type of changes that will be needed to break through the impasse. He is grudgingly forced to put forward small bore programs that a more dynamic leader might have a chance of passing. An institutionalist Biden still thinks he is living in the times when he first became a SENATOR AT THE AGE of 29. He doesn't have it in him to play hard ball with the aggressive Repubs who have a tough hand to play as there are only so many wealthier folks doing fine. We will remain in an impasse in which The Dems will the Presidency say 2/3 of the time and most of the time they will have a few conservative GOP light House or Senate members who along with the GOP will serve as an excuse to not to do much of their platform which the voters want, but their funders don't. The Repubs whose best play is always to keep the Dem president from accomplishing much, despite their craziness will have the Presidency about 1/3 of the time. Given the undemocratic power of small mostly rural declining states who control the Senate and hence the S. Ct the Repubs have a built end advantage. They can win based on the rural despair as the kids get educated and move to the big bad diverse cities. The Repub cultural nostalgia and craziness might be enough for these despairing folks, but it is seldom enough for a working majority so they have an excuse not to accomplish much. Ending Social Security and Medicare as we know it may be a goal of the big funders of the big funders of the GOP, so they can espouse it, but they will have an excuse for not accomplishing this as providing SS and Medicare for deserving white folks is possible even in devastated rural. America.
Honest question: what could a "more dynamic leader" have done to convince Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to do in the last Congress that the Biden administration didn't?
If you look at it from the point of view of only Manchin ad Sinema, which we are encouraged by ur media, it is near impossible. In a larger picture you could have an energetic and bold president giving frequent press conferences longer than a couple of minutes explaining in detail how policies including parts of the heavily compromised proposals Sinema and Manchin are blocking are to the advantage of WV an Arizona. Leaders are important and an energetic President could go and hold rallies around the country and do so in their states. Do not give into their blackmail threats to switch parties, which Sinema has wound up doing. Be bold. Persist. Do not look like a wimp. Tell Manchin you will go after his daughter the EpiPen Queen. The wife has his issues. People like a fighter, one of crazy Trump's appeals. Folks in WV and Arizona on Medicare want their teeth fixed, they want to be able for their kids to be able to afford college. Be aggressive and do not let the millionaire corrupt coal baron Manchin hide behind "we can't afford it. " Explain who Manchin's funders are and his coal investments. Keep pushing and don't let Manchin pose as fiscal conservative when he backs tax cuts and huge increases for military pork. Explain clearly how some of the smaller parts of the "Build Back Better" in money terms were opposed so strongly by the Repubs and their ally Manchin just because they would be felt so strongly as a desirable benefit t those recipients. Have a proposal to give early retirement benefits or other major aid to the actually few thousand coal minors who would be displaced. Folks are not so dumb that they think big coal will be back. Praise them and their families for the costs they, their families and environment have endured i our countries development. Target the alternative energy investments to W. Virginia.

Obama was "energetic and gave speeches" which brought ALOT of hostility from the right which blocked all ability to accomplish on legislation. Biden got the gop leader to vote for a 1 trillion dollar infrastructure that spends billions on climate. What are you talking about? Obama catered and passes tax cuts and balanced the budget. "Hold rallies in wvy" biden gave a TV interview in West virgina and the next day manchin threatened to leave the party and warned the white house never to go to his state again. You literally have no idea what you're talking about like most lefties. You don't convert vulnerable senators by doing "rallys." Joe manchin told bernie sanders he could "go to hell" when bernie approached him about Medicare changes. Politics is about RELATIONSHIPS its not about some bullshit energy or press conference. Obama never could've gotten Republicans to even sign a budget while Biden got Republicans to sign a gun legislation that was opposed by the NRA. Bernie has literally never accomplished a single damn thing in senate other than passing postal service bills. Biden has accomplished more legislation than any president since lbj that's just from raw numbers. He's passed over 4.5 trillion dollars of spending with a 50/50 senate. Democrats won the midterms with a +2 republican environment BECAUSE biden is boring and non threatening which is his biggest weapon. No other democrat could've passed 5 TRILLION dollars in spending and win the midterms.
He had 59 senators and a huge majority in the house and didn't accomplish half the things biden did. No republican president has had the victories biden secured in the last congress in decades. Obama and trump use to brag about a 300b infrastructure bill one day when biden passed a 2TRILLOON bill with chips act. People don't realize how difficult passing legislation is in reality. Aoc hasn't even written a bill out of committee in her life. Bernie wasn't able to convince manchin of a single thing last year. Biden was able to convince Republicans to vote for tons of things that no other political couldn't done. It's funny when lefties give advice when they literally havnt accomplished a single thing nationally. Republicans in senate like biden and thus is why he's able to have so many victories. His disapproval even from Republicans is soft compared to Obama or others. Relationships matter and building bonds is real.
This idea from progressives that Biden is doing very little and doesn't have a vision doesn't match reality. He's gotten far more impactful legislation passed than any President in decades and in just the first two years. Infrastructure, 3rd CARES Act, CHIPS Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and most impressive the first gun control Act in decades. All of these were passed with bipartisan support and address many things that progressives claim to want. These aren't small half measure bills but represent trillions in spending. Between the Infrstructure Bill and the Inflation Reduction Act most of what was in BBB has been met. Politically Sanders has been willing to back these along with Manchin. Not sure there is any other politician that could've done that.
