The fact the blown call occurred when most people are asleep will probably keep it from exploding in the media. I expect NFL Sunday will completely wash it away.
I think there was a ‘business decision’ by the ACC higher ups to make sure one team gets into the playoffs. Miami has been designated as that team. Jalen Milroe and Scam Ward are so overhyped. They are not Heisman worthy. Only players who deserve to be in NY at season end is Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeady. That’s it. Send Alabama’s Ryan Williams just to fill out the third spot. But he sits at the kiddie table.
Basically for the same reasons you see in MLB, NBA, and NFL. Fewer games makes each regular season game matter more (see NFL vs MLB or NBA). Fewer playoff teams makes the regular season matter more (see MLB a few years ago vs new NBA). 4 or 6 teams doesn't make every game a single-elimination. But it does make double-elimination at least. In college football, we're not even necessarily at triple elimination right now. Absolutely true for the fringe teams. But it also makes early season games matter less and, for the top teams, many late season games won't matter at all. I dunno - the college football season has long been the most exciting regular season in sports. They were doing something right there.
The ACC is definitely putting their thumb on the scale for Miami especially because Miami might not play a single top-25 team the rest of the season. The league is bleeding and they're trying to keep Florida State and Clemson in the fold. They'll do whatever they can to keep Miami in the top-10 and lock in a high playoff seed.
Ohio St bout to lose to the Ducks. edit. Ducks secondary sucks. esit2: Howard thought he was CJ and tried to get enough running for a field goal. lol.
For Will Howard to play nearly a perfect game and then completely lose his mind on the final play. SMH. Not complaining. Go Ducks!
