2 questions: Where can I get an authentic Astros jersey with "Discomfort" as the name on the back What should the number be? 3...3 questions Which version of the jersey?
Costner says he hit 2 HRs during tryouts for the film, which he said were the first 2 he'd ever hit. Makes a lot of sense if they were doing it there. I know I enjoy getting in some BP at the little league fields.
C Will Bush and OF/IF Yamal Encarnacion were promoted to High A this weekend. Bush has been a disappointment offensively and may have been sent up just because he wasn’t playing with Jancel Villarroel getting the bulk of the catching job in Fayetteville. I liked Bush’s potential as a power hitting catcher but he has hit for almost no power this season. Encarnacion is a pretty high ceiling non-prospect with 60 or 70 grade speed.
In a game that originally started on Thursday, Luis Rodriguez got the save for the FCL squad as he allowed a hit and struck out five over 2.1 scoreless innings. Rodriguez was acquired from the White Sox for Corey Julks in May.
For now I think Walker Janek will be Houston’s 4th best prospect, behind Melton, Matthews, and Bloss, but ahead of Baez, Dezenzo, and Leon.
I've got Baez as the Stros 2nd best prospect behind Matthews. Bloss is no longer a prospect since he's on the MLB roster. I've got them ranked like this, of course I've actually seen very little of these guys. I'm going mostly by what I've read. 1. Matthews 2. Baez 3. Dezenzo 4.Blubaugh 5.Cole 6.Leon 7.Melton 8.Gomez 9.Whitley 10. Ullola
I'd put Janek in the Melton tier as likely platoon/fringe regular up the middle players, with every day potential in both cases if the power sticks. I think both Janek and Melton are behind Matthews and Dezenzo. Baez is sliding down for me, based on his underwhelming BB/K numbers, and I am not sure where I'd place him now. Matthews and Dezenzo are the clear 1-2 on the position player side for me.
Where Janek fits in my top 10 ML Jake Bloss 1 Brice Matthews 2 Luis Baez 3 Jacob Melton* 4 Walker Janek 5 AJ Blubaugh 6 Zach Dezenzo 7 Kenni Gomez* ML Joey Loperfido* 8 Alonzo Tredwell
The DSL teams played each other today and the Orange team won both games. The first game was a 4-3 decision in 9 innings; that game originally started on July 8 but was suspended due to rain. Juan Sierra hit his 5th home run for the Blue team back when it was being played on the 8th, so it's now official. The Orange team won 3-0 in a game that was originally supposed to be played on Monday. They scored all three of their runs in the 6th on a couple of wild pitches and a Frailin Yan RBI single.
Trailing 4-2 in the 9th inning, with 2 on, 2 outs and 2 strikes- the Space Cowboys load the bases on a swinging strike out that the catcher couldn’t corral And Sugarland proceeds to put up a 5 spot with 2 outs and steal a road victory. Will Wagner with a bomb. Record wise- this is certainly the best triple A team the Astros have had in quite a while. They’re a fun team to watch.
