Whew, that's not great. I said it last year, it's probably good that the stable of arms they got in rounds 3-10 of the 2022 draft (DeVos, Dombroski, et al.) had decent-to-great first full seasons, because I have a feeling the Astros might need one of them in Houston this year.
Coleman is going to be fine. Hopefully one of the other hard throwing guys workout and the bullpen will be elite .
He's a guy the Astros FO talked about at last year's Fan Fest. It sounded like his fastball has a great vertical attack angle and rise, but probably needs a couple of ticks to be effective against MLBs. They said his changeup was too good for the low levels of the minors.
i wonder if the Taylor Jones hitting coach in the FCL is the same former Astros prospect Taylor Jones. Sutil, Storey, Muniz, Sanchez, Mejia, and Reynoso are all former Astros prospects.
Astros signed ANOTHER minor league free agent, this time it’s Michell Kilkenny, former 2nd round pick from A&M who was in the Rockies system. Barring more injuries the Astros will option 7 pitchers on the 40 man roster prior to opening day. They’ve signed another 5 who they’ve invited to Spring Training and signed another 2 who they did not invite. I wouldn’t say they have a ton of talent but the AA/AAA rosters are going to be interesting. The Astros have 55 pitchers in their organization who have appeared in AA or higher, excluding the 3 guys who will open the season on the IL (McCullers, Garcia, and Graveman). That’s 55 guys for 39 spots.
It's a numbers game for Brown. Enough prospects that he gets to see first hand to figure out who really has potential. We have the best development staff in the league so maybe we can fix a guy who has an easy 99 mph fastball.

I've head about a guy Desensa? who is on some peoples lists to watch. Is there a prospect grade on him? I just caught the name DeZenzo on the fangraphs list with 60 raw power. That's probably him.
