I didn't care about who he was doing it against, as much as the shot was falling. He did it against NBA talent last yr
I'm not a Jalen lover or hater. I'm completely open-minded. My response to your post was not to highlight Jalen, but to actually divert attention away from him to the entire group of youngsters. In other words, he's not the only guy with something to lose this year. Since minutes (especially closing minutes) are a zero sum commodity, there will be at least two significant losers IMO. If I had to rank players most likely to lose, Jalen would not be #1 on my list. Apparently my post came across differently from what I intended.
Jalen shows some solid moves and its "against 3rd backups", "gonna be some sad folks when he isnt good" Like bruh.... Can we just enjoy a pretty mundane, soon to be basketball again, hype video; without the hyper fixation on Jalen. My lord
This is why you have a hard arse of a head coach in Udoka who can just flat out bench guys like Green, Alpe, Cam and Amen..... It is a contract year for some of those guys.... tension will happen.
Alpi is Alpi. He starts the season as the alpha on offense. We'll learn what his next level is. I want him to be more assertive and quicker to attack when he has a favorable matchup. Tari is a wild card. If fully healthy, I believe he will skyrocket and blow people away! The question is at whose expense: DB or Jabari? I expect Amen to average nearly 30 mpg by mid-season. He and Reed should help keep FVV fresh. I'm not so sure about Cam over the course of the season. He'll start out getting ~20 mpg. If his 3-point shot isn't deadly, his value is limited. I think Reed ramping up as he gains experience is a threat to Cam's minutes. Rockets need a legit off-the-ball deadeye shooter defenses must account for.
"Tension" is the perfect word to use here. Get ready for it folks. It won't be all peaches and cream even if the Rockets win 50 games.
Jalen had Jabari looking like a baby wildebeast out there - giving him the wobbles. But yeah ... can't wait for the regular season to start.
I can’t give out likes anymore for some reason so just going to say appreciate all these articles you post.
Jabari isnt a third stringer and Jock Landale better than some starting centers on other teams. Season hasnt even started the jokers already out in force wtf. Can you wait till he actually plays bad before you start hating? Wtf.
Uuummm.. Eason is actually the second person he scores on in the video and since when is Jabari a 3rd stringer...
Cam and Jalen are in the same boat. You're going to defend and be efficient or you aren't. They've alluded to Amen getting a lot more on ball reps. Reed will as well. Guessing that's going to cut into Jalen and Fred's touches.
Ime calling Bron a b**** has been the best moment of the entire rebuild so far for me. I'm so glad we've got a coach who pushes the team to be fighters and not back down from confrontation.
I doubt it. More than likely this will be the highest usage season for Jalen in his career. Jalen will probably still lead the team in things like primary pnr ball handler possessions even ahead of Fred. I doubt you'll see much this season with Sheppard being "on ball". Amen wil have some experimental minutes as a guard but he still will play the brunt of his minutes as a wing/forward. Fred will play a bit more off ball than last season. Cam and Jalen have entirely different roles. Their possession frequencies for types of possessions are entirely different. For example Cama created 1 pnr ball handler possession per game and Jalen 8. Just complet different players and different roles. Cam will be used as a off ball slasher and shooter while having some iso wing possessions called for him to attack his defender from the wing one on one. Jake. Will be used for large stretches as the primary ball handler.
Hopefully so, there's so much talent on this team no one should tolerate mindless chucking by anyone.... but we've never seen true accountability before, so I'm not expecting it now
Ime held everyone accountable last year (cept Fred and Dillon). Jalen was benched to oblivion more often than not and Sengun/Jabari experienced it as well. Jalen's leash will likely be loose enough only to allow him to breathe. I'm taking an open minded approach to him this upcoming season until he gives me a reason not to. I'm assuming the coaches are doing the same. If it's anything like the last few years....then it won't take him long to give me a reason not to. Jalen and Dillon have both had two eye opening/concerning quotes this media session. Dillon with the "I'm going to be who I'm going to be unlike last year" and Jalen's "If I go 3 for 17 or whatever I need to do other things to get teammates involved and play defense". Like...no Dillon you can't just undercut dudes on 3s and get thrown out of games and no Jalen you cannot continue to go 3 for 17 under any circumstance.
