I love any team beating the Beloved teams that always get warnings when we get stiff penalties for the same thing.
Yeah hopefully not them. Well Houston hopefully beats them so it looks like Texas are losers like LA. Yes but I wonder how many teams will offer him around that just to secure him. Apparently LA Dodgers but would it just be them? Also pretty risky since noone will know how he'll be once he's able to pitch. Other options would be for him to take a big 1 year deal and try again the following year. Man if he's willing to take a 1 year deal, would Crane give it a shot? It was rumored that the Astros tried that with Harper but Harper wanted and got his long term big contract deal.
This is such a dumb complaint and is not anything new. The Rangers are off for 4 days after the ALDS. If either the Astros or Rangers sweep the ALCS, they'll be off for 7 or 8 days before the World Series. Long layoffs in the postseason are not usual and not just a result of the new wild card system. Maybe teams just need to better learn how to manage their players and culture so they don't shut down if they take a few days off. Dodgers and Braves do this repeatedly because they don't understand how to manage the dog days of a regular season. Astros don't have this problem specifically because Dusty (and Hinch before him) understand the nature of how to manage people over a 7 month season.
I’ll go with the Phillies. I don’t care too much, but they seem like a more fun team. I’m also scared to piss off any Philly fans as they’re nuts.
Ranger Suarez just feels like an Astros pitcher. A guy that does okay in the regular season as a bottom of the rotation starter but comes up huge in the playoffs.
He should pitch the following year and someone will pay to secure that chance. If he’s not getting those kind of offers from the usual suspects, it just opens the door for another team to slide in.
all the regular season mvp candidates are struggling or struggled. acuna, tucker, betts, freeman. maybe with the exception of corey seager
I hear you, and maybe some team will, but with several injuries already to his arm I think that very much hurts his chances at that amount. If ANY team gives him anything close to that their franchise will be f'd for a decade. Ohtani is a guy that will never win a championship. Some players outprice their worth to a long post season run and he's one of them.
