This plus Dusty isn't going to play him with 5 guys ahead of him in the OF pecking order. When Dusty is not bringing Meyers in for defense in the ALDS, he just is playing favorites. It isn't as easy to see Chas's defense with one's eyes, and Chas has not been as good (though still good) defensively as previous seasons. Meyers...come on...that's easy to see. I would curse Dusty for bringing Meyers and Dubon for defensive replacements with Chas and whoever in LF leaving the games as Chas is good in the OF, but that would at least make more sense than leaving Meyers on the bench (i.e., it is more believable that Dusty doesn't think Chas is good at defense than it is that Dusty thinks Dubon and Chas are better than Meyers). I think it is clear Dusty still has pull with Crane over the GM. Though, if GM and I could unilaterally pick the roster, I'd have Meyers on the roster instead of Singleton just to keep Dusty from doing something stupid like using Singleton as a PH for Chas.
