Unfortunate about Graveman but if he gets better, can they have an injured player wink wink get replaced by Graveman. Only thing is that player would be ineligible for the World Series if they advance I believe.

Did Graveman loan Brantley his shoulder or something?

If he did, that's a blessing. Thank you Graveman.

Framber should be on a short leash in Game 2. I feel like JP France would do well and they should have him as backup if things start going south.

JP pitched twice against the Rangers going 1-0 and gave up zero runs in 7 innings and 3 runs in 5 innings in the two outings. He was our second best pitcher for a big chunk of the year - not sure why he isn’t getting much consideration. I grant you Javier and Urquidy showed up but I’m worried about Framber.

I think everyone is a bit worried about Framber. We shall see. We certainly need him to step up this series. He has a sub 2 ERA career in the ALCS. :)

I think he'll bounce back. I can't seeing him being that bad two games in a row with what's at stake.

Unless Meyers is injured it’s really surprising that they kept Kessinger and Singleton over him. At this point it looks like they view Brantley as the LF and Dubon as the 4th OF, which makes Kessinger the backup IF. So it came down to keeping a 5th OF vs a lefty bench power bat. Starting to think Meyers might be a sell low trade candidate this offseason.

Makes me think Meyers will be traded during the winter.

Yeah it’s an odd choice. Meyers can give you speed, plus defense, and a competent bat. Singleton occasionally hits a home run and hasn’t exactly done much against quality pitching.

You’d have to think Meyers is hurt or they are worried about Abreu’s back.

I think it just came down to matchups. They see Brantley is healthy and like how McCormick (and/or Dubon) matches up with the Rangers pitching staff. They also probably really like having Singleton’s lefty power sitting ready to pinch hit for Maldy if the right situation arises. It will be ****ing nuts if Jon Singleton hits a game winning HR for the Astros in an ALCS or WS game.

I know Meyers is a good base runner but I don’t know how he compares to Kessinger and Dubon. Kessinger and Dubon strike out a lot less than Meyers. Singleton has a lot more power. So the only reason to keep Meyers would be as a defensive sub in CF or as a base runner. They must think the value is just not there vs Kessinger or Singleton.

I’d bet on Meyers getting a hit before Singleton, but yeah they probably want another lefty option.

I get Singleton has more power in theory, but Meyers has a higher career slugging percentage (.379 vs .317) and essentially the same ISO.

This is one of those deals where it’s pretty clear the front office believes that Singleton’s MLB history does not indicate what kind of hitter they expect him to be.

Kessinger is the 2nd backup IF and emergency catcher. Dubon is the 4th OF'ish and backup IF.

Singleton (worthless) over Jake (has some usable skills) is a headscratcher.

I think Meyers has not had enough playing time to stay sharp.

Nobody cares if Kessinger or Singleton don't get into a game but if Dubon is playing over Meyers then there will be some complaints ( how much is questionable but more than Kessinger or Singleton)

Meyers may simply be useless ( like Diaz) because of rust.

I think Meyers needs to be traded if Dusty returns but given another 400+ PA to see what he can be if is on the team.

No way he plays if Dusty is the manager.

If you thought Dusty hates Chas. . .
