Celtics Guard's Recent Trade Request Could Be Fulfilled By Jazz
One Celtics player seems to have had enough of the franchise after their most recent Eastern Conference Finals outing.

The Boston Celtics found themselves falling short of their NBA title hopes on Monday, and it seems as if the player rumors and movement won’t be waiting for anyone. Celtics guard Payton Pritchard voices his desire to be traded from the organization this offseason, as he’ll look to join the second team of his career this offseason.

In the BOS-MIA series, it was an open secret that Butler targeted him. He was unplayable. In one of the subsequent games, think Mazzula snuck Payton in there (for a minute or two), but as soon as Spo subbed Butler back in, Joe had to pull Payton back out. That's how bad it was.

That was a specific play-off matchup, but Celtics is deep; which is why Payton's minutes is low. Same thing that Grant suffered. For a bench guy to demand minutes like this (in public), an old head needs to slap him on the back of the head.

And if I'm an NBA team (like the Rockets) seeing a bench guy lobby for minutes in public; not a good look.

Anything is possible but ... right now his career is something like an Aaron Nessmith, a young player, (former celtic - two years), who in his 3rd year played 24 min on the Pacers... but likely will be out of the league after a couple more seasons.

PGs are the most common commodity in the league. Esp role player PGs theyre a dime a dozen. Schroder for example had only one chance to make money but turned it down, now he's been getting nothing but vet mins despite being pretty decent every time he gets on the court.

Payton apparently never learned the unspoken rule that only star players and very respected veterans get to demand trades. Might be on a fast track out of the league at this rate...

That was my concern as well . ..
NBA don't like Squeaky wheels that are not "generational" talents

The Ham and Eggers have to just kind of politic . . .not outright "demand"
Honestly . . . he should have "back channeled" some teams to guage interest

Crazy thing to me is why make noise when he's already making millions? He's already made 10M these past 4 yrs that's pretty amazing. Now he is on track to China lol.

Money cannot be whole motivation in human life. If you don't have enough, money is everything. If you have more than enough, it is just score.

There is a strange case in Philly. Furkan Korkmaz requested trade 2 times, first in 11/2018 and 02/2023 secondly. Philly promised him more playing time and he signed for 5M/year instead of 8M/year offered by other teams. Philly does not play him but neither let him go.Very strange.

KJM requested trade and started to play more. Better teams to let Pritchard,Korkmaz&KJM type of players to go In that case Pritchard&Korkmaz might be useful in somewhere else and Tari would get KJM's minutes. Win-Win.

Sooner or later type of "Bosman Ruling" will be injected to American sports.

You are right but at the end of the day they signed a contract and they need to abide by it. The owners are already uncomfortable with all the stars signing max deals and then demanding trades if randoms also start making trade demands they gonna do something about it in the next CBA. Maybe they say ok if you want a trade we reduce your contract or something.

In KJM's case Rockets picked him up out of obscurity and spent couple fo years developing him. If now he turns around and says he wants out when his deal isn't done then that's a disservice to the Rockets who wasted a 2nd round pick and time waiting for him to develop.

kjp should bet on himself and demand an ultramaxx or demand to be waived so he can go to the lakers.
