Philly looks so lackadasical . . . .they did last week too multiple turnovers is ridiculous no sense of urgency They look like they just expect teams to let them win Rocket River
A Chiefs TD was erased due to an offensive offsides play. One of the Chiefs’ receivers lined up about a foot over the line of scrimmage. it was a great play with a lateral by Kelsi but it was an obvious call also.
Yesterday the Minnesota Vikings beat the Raiders 3-0. The Minnesota Wild hockey team beat the Seattle Kraken by the same score 3-0.
Loved watching Mahomes cry about a call. What a putz! Oh…they ruined our great offensive play as they didn’t warn us our guy was lined up offsides. Seriously?
It really is fascinating how both him and Reid say they should have gotten a "warning"... like there's any sort of official stance on that way of handling these types of penalties. Apparently there have been more of these neutral zone infractions called this year so its consistent across all staffs. With laser technology, they could probably catch even more of them if they wanted... and teams/players would eventually get the message of this very simple mistake. My biggest gripe is the "formation" penalties where some guys are set, some guys aren't, some have the right number of guys on the LOS, some don't.... and some crews pick up on those details and some crews let them go (especially as the games get longer). There are more rules about the LOS formations than even the most serious football fan could possibly know.... but some ref crews know those rules better than their ability to actually call pass interference in real time.
LOL, yeah, in the press conference, saying they took away one of the greatest plays this season for a penalty was a disgrace for football in general, LOL, such a spoiled guy.
Apparently, the warnings are fairly common for lesser cases, but this one was too far offsides to warrant it. In a pool report, referee Carl Cheffers said down judge Mike Carr saw Toney lined up offside. "Ultimately, they are responsible for wherever they line up,'' Cheffers said. "No warning is required, especially if they are lined up so far offsides where they're actually blocking our view of the ball. "We would give them a warning if it was anywhere close, but this particular one is beyond a warning.''
idk why Mahomes was so berserk. It was the right call. It was clear as day. What, losing 3 in a row is not what you're expecting? Grow up man.
I would have hoped that the referee would have blown the play dead from the start if the guy lined up offsides. Zero reason to let that play even happen and risk injuries to key players. It was a dead play from the moment it began.
It's similar to offsides on the defense - except a "free play" for the defense in the this case. If the play results in a sack or interception, the defense can decline the penalty and take the result of the play.
Will Levis vaporizes 14 point lead with 2 long drives in just 60 seconds. That's unreal. And he left 2 minutes on the clock for the Phins. That should get more notice than it will.
In many sports this is common. As a ref in Judo often before a penalty and head ref or tournament will director will say they would like us to call a certain penalty closer because they’ve been seeing it happen a lot and players are getting sloppy and or coaches and players are pushing the edge on it. Conversely sometimes refs will be told to let some penalties slide for the benefit of making game play more exciting. The most blatant case of this is traveling in basketball. In the Toney penalty though I’m not sure that was the case of calling a penalty closely as it wasn’t a borderline call but he was well over the line of scrimmage. I’m sure if the situation was reversed and a Bills defender was lined up that far past the line of scrimmage and another defender got a strip sack the Chiefs would be complaining that defensive offsides wasn’t called.
i wonder if the guy who invented the penalty thought to himself, I got it, this is going to STOP all of the cheating.
