I think we need to take advantage of having these CLE draft picks while they still suck and rebuild this team. I would like to have Bryce, but man, we have so many damn positions that suck at that we all the help we can get through the draft.
It wasn’t just a great defense. The 49ers also have a great offense. Without both, you end up like Denver. Great defense with bad offense still leads to a bad record.
After seeing how this game went…I want to add Anderson to this team more then ever…And investing in Anthony Richardson or a true scrambling QB ( Caleb Williams ) seeing how driskel played today and how a true mobile QB can be a real game changer is what we need. Adding Anderson with Pitre Harris Sting Is the way I’m going and trading for Bryce ( if he slips) If not then Richardson or….. Wait for Caleb next year
My point is they have a 7th round draft pick as QB. With better coaches and better players surrounding a QB we will be better. We need better receivers, offensive linemen, and a better QB, but we also need a defensive studs who can be our sack attack. We can build our defense into a great one. Pitre and Smith and Stingley are promising young guys. I'd rather use our top pick on the best defensive player.
No player is perfect and he's been a wanted man this year given the phenomenal season he had as a Soph. I think his success will be somewhat tied to the new HC/Staff we hire. I believe Will can play as an Edge in virtually any front, but he looks most comfortable with his hand in the dirt. We need weapons on defense and offense. Will, with Pitre and hopefully Harris and Sting can be the foundation for our new defense. I'd love to add another DT and LB that can impact both the run/pass games.
