When were we ever talking about AR’s ability to play QB in the NFL? Pretty sure I haven’t shared my thoughts on that. Also, I just don’t see what you see. Jalen Hurts was a very good athlete in college and definitely mobile. He’s not the same athlete as Richardson. Neither is shitty Blaine Gabbert. They just aren’t.
Yes I’m aware. I’m not claiming he’s going to ball out in the NFL. Simply said he would test better than shitty Blaine gabbert, which you expressed doubt, to my incredulity.
I have always said that with good professional coaching Richardson would be the top pick in the draft. I'm thinking Slowik and Jones can do wonders with him. Also putting a better OL in front of him.
I didn’t say he wouldn’t test better than Gabbert, I said Gabbert had elite testing. AR tested truly elite for all positions. Not just QB
I always had a feeling that Darnell Washington would not make it out of the 1st round. My dream draft scenario was for the Texans to somehow get another 2nd rounder and draft Jamyr Gibbs and Washington.
We should draft him no matter who we get at QB. Our offense will be all about yards after catch and Metchie and JSN are both really good at that.
Every coach or GM I have heard says the combine accounts for maybe 10% of the overall evaluation. They consistently use Cam Newton as the example. He had a horrible combine and was still the number 1 pick. Game film is the primary evaluation tool.
Darnell Washington averaged less than 2 catches per game in college and had 3 TD's for his entire career (in a prolific offense). Lost his job to Brock Bowers. He's an athletic specimen but why is it not translating into on-field production?
Between Darnell Washington, Mayer, Kincaid, this class is definitely stacked. Which is precisely why with our roster, we shouldn't draft a TE until later. It's almost like Fantasy Football (I know it's not), but if there's a deep position, then that's the position you want to draft later. No point in wasting high picks on guys that are similar to guys who go later.
Bowers is a freak at TE. It’s no wonder he got all the action and Washington was basically ignored. His height alone makes him a challenge to cover
Unless they think one QB is head and shoulders above the rest they should stand pat. If they give up 2 first and more, they definitely put one of the QB way ahead of the others.
It is right now. Once no one is bytonf, the cost will lower. Supply and demand. I hope it stays high though.
