That's my sense too. Perhaps eventually coming back, but being ineffective before being cut. I hope I'm wrong as well.
I'm placing more hope on resurgences of returning players off of down years. Hutchinson and or Metche as WR2, Pierce as an effective RB2, Schultz in more WR formations, Stover in a more traditional TE role. Perhaps Jordan in the slot. All this is based primarily on fitting the system to the players rather than the other way around and quicker adjustments. The draft simulator is just all over the place and it may indicate numerous surprises in the draft. Every other draft has someone that can't be passed on strictly because of talent. Usually ranked 10-17 that has fallen for some reason. I'm glad it's not my responsibility because I get worn out just playing at it.
Man, I just dont see him being ready this year and the selfish part of me says "DAM IT", but I do hope he plays again, he seems like a good kid
I really hope he plays again but there's no way in modern science it's this year and he won't be the same player
Only player I can remember to come back after an injury that severe and be all-pro level was Garrison Hearst, and that was after a two year rehab.
As much as we like to lump them together, each injury and rehab is different as is how critical the injury is to what makes them special enough to play in the NFL.
What makes you think Metcie/Hutch will get better? They're limited by their talent level They're avg slot WR's. No DC fears them. Gotta add some speed in the draft and FA to the WR corps. Schultz is who he is. A receiving TE that struggles with drops and cant block worth a crap. Hopefully Stover can become an avg TE. Peirce has promise particularly with a new offense and OC. Bottom line is Caserio needs to get weapons that fit Caley's offense. Look at the Rams as a guide. WR's Kupp/Puka/Robinson/Atwell/Whittington do these guys have the skillsets of guys that are currently on the Texans WR roster? Higbee/Parkinson, are Schultz/Stover comparable?
I think Tank is done with pro football. If I was his dad, I would try to talk him out of a return. He is just built too slight. He would clearly be a phenom in flag football.
That's sad and if Tank can no longer play I hope the Texans organization can offer him a position doing something.
