Scruggs is a guy I initially had pegged as a potential 2nd center in this class that can play guard. Thought we took him a tad bit early, but maybe the guard experience was the tipping point to take him. Maybe they still take another center if the price is right and stock up on interior OL depth?

I’m not against the pick, like another poster said, “if you know college linemen you’re wasting your time” and I trust the Texans decision makers I think. Who cares on the trade. We kept our top 4th rounders… but I will say, I had already heard about Wypler, and he was stroud’s center.. we couldn’t just wait and get him? Is juice better? I have no idea.

So has anybody commented on the fact that we drafted guys named Tank and Juice, and their names are completely unacceptable for their positions.

Did they really need to move up 3 slots though? Hope it works out I would have preferred Oluwatemi from Michigan or Neilon from USC.

Wypler is good value in 4th. I would go Wypler and either a corner or running back...

Juice's versatility could come in handy if a guard gets hurt and we have Wypler too...

What's interesting to me is that we didn't trade up for him until just AFTER John Michael Schmitz cane off the board.
I originally thought that they just miscalculated where JMS would go and this was the last center left they felt comfortable with as a possible starting center this year.

But THEN I read about how we've had so much contact with him and I start to think that maybe they wanted him ALL ALONG and when JMS was taken they didn't want to take a chance of Juice being the top remaining center on anyone else's draft board and thus losing him.

Can you imagine the ABSOLUTE MELTDOWN here if we had traded up and taken Juice with JMS STILL on the board! LOL

Hate to say it but there's a built in zinger if we ever cut him.

....and in other news today the Texans "let the Juice loose"!

Zierlien doesn't have the best track record when it comes to evaluating the offensive line, I remember when he was in love with Xavier Su'a-Filo...

this was the "lowest value" pick vs where mocks expected him to go

To be fair, so was Tytus Howard and everyone wanted Dillard... I think we made the right choice so I'll just trust here.
