Or they could have picked worse guys and then we would have been like well none of those guys add up to will’s production

I can see your point. High Quality talent and Depth is the key to sustainable winning in the NFL. It’s a solid strategy, and one that works.

However up to this point, I figure only very few Texans fans would have buyers remorse. Most would do that trade all over again in a heartbeat. The defense was very elite, and it’s still trending up for next season.

The way I see it, for a feller that is #1 pick worthy, teams will normally give up 3+ unprotected picks. In the case for Anderson as you noted, it was the 12 pick, the 33 pick in 2023 (both picks were face value and no suspense if they’d be higher). The 2024 pick had a little suspense but the Texans did so well that the pick was relegated to a very late 1st round pick (27th overall)…

Now the bounty the Texans lost when they traded for Tunsil was gut wrenching…. Eek. Miami definitely pilfered the Texans on that trade.

Sure. It wasn't meant to be definitive - just an illustration of how much they paid for Will Anderson.

I think the correct answer is: It's great the Texans have Will Anderson. And the Texans paid a lot for Will Anderson.

Anderson is a franchise-changing talent. The 2023 draft may be a top 5 moment for a franchise that, frankly, doesn't have too many wonderful memories. I wouldn't suggest any fan should have regrets. I don't!

Just pushing against the notion the Texans "stole" Will Anderson - nah; they paid a fortune.

Could've done a small trade for Carter and probably been better off, even though I love WA.

it was blasphemous to take jalen carter so high after his off the field stuff he had; the eagles are great at taking those risks and it worked out for them

I'm ok not having absolutely pieces of trash on the team, it makes it hard to root for guys that you know are just gutter trash humans.

People are also ignoring the fact that WAJ is the better player.

I wanted WA and Carter in that draft and would've traded up for Carter. I had Carter as the best player in the draft. The off field stuff, while unfortunate and sad mostly wasn't his fault. I wouldn't have knocked him down the draft board because of that accident.

An uncomfortable truth is he did the right thing for his draft stock leaving the scene. He had been drinking and would've been charge with DWI manslaughter or something like that. I'm not condoning his actions after the crash.

A 21 yr old kid made a mistake and he didn't make that young lady drive as fast as she was driving. That certainly doesn't make him a piece of trash and it looks like he learned from his mistake. But hey, if you want to be all judgemental you do you and I hope you never make a mistake. Are you able to grasp the concept of forgiveness and giving a guy a 2nd chance? Guess not.

Like I said, I hope nothing ever happens in your life that you need a 2nd chance.

As far as the Eagles go, if you want to be a great team you have to take chances. Kinda like the Chiefs do also. Notice a trend? BTW, when does Ruggs get out?

Ya KC is really good about that as well. Ruggs should be out soon, he got a very minimal sentence for his minor infraction.

Ruggs...the guy who killed a girl due to his drunk driving? Nah man. There's things that deserves 2nd chances...but that is the wrong hill to die on with what he did. What he did deserves no further chances.

I dont want them to bring Suggs in. I was just wondering when he was getting out of jail. Red5 answered that for me. Thanks.

    Carter is a different story.
