Let’s just hope we have someone willing to learn and not someone we have to put study time in their contract.. lol
The NIL has given amatuer athletes more leverage. I dont agree with it at all personally - get drafted by a bad team and turn them around. That is why these guys get drafted at the top.
I wouldnt bank on Williams being jumped, but I do agree with everyone saying this years QB class is special.
They would make a ton of plays outside of the design/call. It doesnt have to be done by athleticism alone. Those guys know exactly what a defense wants to do pre snap and could orchestrate big plays in a muddled pocket. That is the skill of "feel".
So far, all that would have included is the #12 pick and 33. Just wondering who you would have added there to make this team “already built”. Honest question.
Those are fantasy football rankings, is so much different that NFL rankings, obviously Stroud is soo low, because Texans going to play against a great defensive team besides all the injuries in the O-Line, next week he will be much higher. Another example that list is not NFL QB rankings, in both Fantasypros and yahoo, they have Justin Fields above Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Aaron Rodgers, just because rushing yards are more important that passing yards. Or do you really think Justin Fields is a top 5 QB like those sites indicate on their list?
The same principles apply to today's game. How many of these run at first sight of trouble QB's win championships?
Not sure anyone has tried to amp up "run at first sight of trouble QBs" so the hyperbole is missed. From last years playoffs: Allen, Hurts, Mahomes, Lawrence, Daniel Jones, Lamar Jackson (absent due to injury from last years playoffs) are all players that can hurt you with their wheels. Championships require much more than just good QB play.
I would have traded up a couple of spots for Carter and at 2-34 Musgrave or Washington would have been my picks
I think trading spots is too many variables. If we just had 12 and 34, who you got? I like the musgrave/Washington at 34..
San Fran almost did it, but I get your point. The overall theme ; for me at least; was how the game is changing and how the 'modern' QB will be a factor in the run game as defenses adapt and become more exotic. If you happen to roster a guy who can be a difference maker in the run game it gives you a leg up on the competition.
