Drake Maye is not AR-15. He is a better passer, but he is not AR as a runner. I want to see Maye against Georgia or a Michigan-style Defense. Probably won't see that because he won't play in the playoff or in a New Years' 6 bowl.

Football being the team game it is requires much more than good QB play to be successful and you may be overvaluing certain games for effect. If anything is going to hold back Drake Maye it will be Mack Brown and new OC Chip Lindsey. Its not Mayes fault that his schedule doesnt feature top 5 defenses and his peripheral teammates are not good enough to push the program towards the playoff. He did quite well vs Notre Dame who was the only relevant team among top 20 defenses they faced last year.

He’s not AR but he will immediately be one of the best athletes in the league coming in. Top 3-4

Many folks were saying Bryce Young was on that level a year ago. Remember Jameis Winston?

Let these guys play a year. Their stocks are so high already it's much easier for it to go down than it is to go up or stay the same. The real nitpicking of these prospects start their last year before they head to the draft.

I agree with the first half of this.. we were a draft away. Same with the year we needed a QB and only Clowney/Mack were available…
But we need to get off the “taken Will Anderson then get Maye or Williams” train… we tried to tank and still failed to get the top spot. If we think we could have added all these players, new coaches, etc, and still gotten at top 2 pick while other teams are actively tanking too then I don’t know what to tell you. And no we would have to mortgage way more than panthers did to move up for Williams or Maye.

It’s too much playing the what if, wait for next year, game.. it rarely ever works out. Just be upset we missed out yet again by being a draft away, not that we didn’t do more to try to force the future to go to our plan.

The Texans literally traded a 1, 2, and 3. That is it. Sometimes you have to start taking players than worrying about draft capital. @cmoak1982 hates Stroud for 2 reasons, one of which is Ohio State. There is no QB U. Lincoln Riley can make QBs look great, get them in the League: Jalen Hurts...Yes! Murray and Mayfield....NO! The Texans are tired of losing. That's why they signed quality free agents. They are not going to get a top 5 pick this season...even if they hadn't drafted Stroud. Williams and Maye would not be an option. No way the Texans give up what the Panthers did to get in the top 2.

Ohio State, I don’t think he’s a new age QB, hate his representation and the culture they have.

Vegas has us a top 2 pick. With Stroud.
I hope we don’t suck, but it’s still not a great talent laden team.
Very likely this team is picking at the top.
Now Arizona could have two of the top 3 picks

They are wrong much of the time. They just have to be less wrong than gamblers.

It is pointless to even talk with you. You still think Will Levis is a better prospect than Stroud.

Don’t get mad because you’re wrong.
Levis has a much higher upside than Stroud.
    Stroud has a higher floor.

Again, I didn’t want either of them at 2. But you’re so blinded you can’t understand that.

32 teams passed on Levis in the 1st round. That tells you who they think is the better prospect.
