Wow this is a stat that's hard to believe, because Hurts shouldn't be near the top of this list with Philly's OL. Hurts must've been holding onto the ball to long?
CJ thought that he was the new golden boy QB of the league, it was this type of belief that made CJ feel like he could "little bro" Caleb Williams after the game. But then as he struggled, he saw Jayden Daniels snatch the title as the heir apparent golden boy QB from him immediately, so now CJ needs to lock in if he wants to take that back so he can "little bro" other QBs like he wants to.
I am not really interested in arguing this further. But just to sum up my position clearly: - I said it’s ridiculous to question his mindset because he traveled in the offseason, which I stand by. - you responded and posited that his travels led to his struggles “we’ve seen the results of him traveling the world.” - I responded by listing real, actual factors that could’ve contributed to his regression, the first of which was “adjustments made by the league” which I thought carried an implicit understanding that it is then on CJ to adjust to said adjustments. So, the very first factor I named, I thought, relayed an implicit onus on CJ to do something. Then I listed several other real and actual factors and ended it with “etc.”, thusly indicating that there were more and my list was not exhaustive. I closed by saying correlation does not equal causation, which is fundamental logic. - you responded by saying “it’s everybody/everything but CJ’s fault”. Which was not my argument at all. In fact, my first reason, I thought, indicated some fault on his part. So, to be clear: CJ assuredly must shoulder some of the blame for his struggles — that is obvious. But to try to blame them on him traveling in the offseason is ridiculous. You are judging his character and mindset — without knowing him — because he chose to enjoy an offseason when he was 22 years old. That is unfair. “Be curious, not judgmental.” - Ted Lasso
Cj had an awful o line, awful oc, and his wrs kept getting hurt and schultz has been so bad too; it's not all his fault
Like cbass posted, he shares some of the blame. Fortunately he looks like he's taking his job seriously because he's changed his actions this off-season.
I noticed that to, no more pod casts and the like. To be honest I haven't heard one dam thing about him which is fine by me, I think his approach is different this year, at least it "appears" to be. I am not saying the young man should not enjoy his success and fruits of the game BUT when you're in a position that you may only have 5-8 years to maximize your worth and you're on the cusp of making $50-60 million per year you have to have a different mindset then a person like me....................IF and this is a BIG IF LOL, I was in that position I would be working 24/7 365 to master my craft because the window is very small. Not saying he shouldn't take a week or two to hit the beach in Mexico but this is a FT job staying in shape and preparing. In this era, there is no off season I am expecting a bounce back year for CJ, he`s seen the good and the bad and for his sake I hope he is more vocal..........he is the heart and soul of the offense.
Have a feeling CJ will bounce back and be that MVP candidate this upcoming season. I can feel it in my bones....and homerism.
Heard Seth talking about this clip. A few are reluctant to understand, almost purposely, that once you get a case of the happy feet, it will linger for weeks. An entire season if the QB never becomes confident in that line. Thankfully Seven got his groove back by the playoffs. Would have sucked playing like PlayoffHerbert. Seth dove deeper on that stats that have already been shared here, QB ratings to Diggs, Nico and Dell
I dont think the Caleb post-game talk was too bad, honestly. I think that was more CJ Psalms Christian kid mode trying to relate his own experience. More than a "Face of the League" Mahomes Pt 2 condescending. The mistake was simply not reading that Caleb was too mad after losing to want to listen to anything. Regardless, like that he's staying out of the world tour podcast spotlight. Meaning if he was big-headed, he's learning the lesson & adapting
Yea I always thought that was weird CJ getting criticized for giving advice to a younger player. If he ignored Caleb after the game then he would be labeled a diva.
Meh could've just been a simple handshake but I don't think it's a big deal. I actually love Caleb saying he doesn't want to be friends with the other QBs. I love the, now considered, old school style. It feels like it brings an edge. I guarantee the next to CJ meets Caleb on the field, he's going to have that in the back of his mind. Caleb will have the same because maybe he thinks CJ was trying to son him. It could be the beginning of a rivalry and would be great if they meet up in the Superbowl. (I know right).
My God Blake Fisher was SO bad. I hope he can be salvaged because he looked like a total bust last year.
