His stats would be better if we hadn't had 2 successful running games and PENALTIES. Both he and Lamar Jackson are individually hurt by running success.

Also, luck or not, I refuse to give someone flowers for objectively putting us in a worse position on purpose.. how it turned out doesn’t change that fact, it just makes it easier to deal with.

When there are two players you evaluate equally, then there is no value to moving up one place unless it's value is only for trading. The choice between CJ and WAJ involved how we could get both.

and this is why we're having to dink and dunk so much this season... teams are just dropping into 2 deep and rushing 3 to 4...

yeah it 100% is, if you have a competent QB then you're going to get 2 high safeties. Cover 1 and Cover 3 are being used less and less it seems.

What makes it more annoying is that we still can't reliably run the damn ball even with light boxes...

We actually can run the ball with Joe Mixon.

Personally, I want a larger sample size than against the hapless Colts and Patriots run defenses. Credit where it's due, Mixon and Pierce were both effective carrying the ball in the last game and I hope it continues.

I know we'll probably never be the Ravens when it comes to running the football this year, but I just want the ground game to at least be respectable so that the play-action is more effective and CJ doesn't have to continually bail us out on third and long.

"Easy Gas" is a good way to describe CJ's arm. He throws accurate missiles with a flick

This is what happens when you watch spreadsheets and not games.
