The only thing that stops Stroud is water, from the skies or the center's sweat. I watched the full game again. A moment that stuck out was Stroud having to silence the mvp chants because they were loud. Such bad football played the past 3 years that fans forgot to football.
I think safety is the teams biggest need. Pitre sucks and ward can't be relied on in my opinion bc of injuries. If we can get one ball hawk safety then maybe we can make pitre the classic in the box safety and that would solve alot of our issues.
He’s gonna get franchised for sure if they don’t arrive at an agreement. He should get $17-$20m, might even get more. And tbh he’s worth it.
Watching the game again right now. The pass to Nico Collins on the first fg drivem to pus on the 3 was impressive. -he shifts Nico to the far top of the lineup -he goes through all 3 of his reads -Nico being his last read was supposed to run a slant but decides to turn it up for a hole in the coverage -you can see CJ read the slant from Nico and then do a double take in a click of a second to see he was open with tons of space -dime with man in his face -gets hit -first and goal
I've been stomping up and down in this forum for weeks: BRING ME CLEVELAND! I was not afraid of them. I knew the last game was smoke and mirrors, I knew what Flacco was doing was unsustainable, and I knew that, when given a choice, you always take the lesser coach and/or lesser QB. Compared to Buffalo and Kansas City, Cleveland offered both the lesser coach and the lesser QB. Stefanski is not a good coach; Flacco is not a good QB. Gets harder this week. Ravens and Chiefs will be tough. But this team is starting to REALLY look like '21 Bengals. They can beat either team. We will not be outcoached; we will not be outclassed at the most important position on the field (QB); we have playmakers who can tilt games... As people were saying about KC - this is, perhaps, the most beatable they've been during the Mahomes era - Kelce looks like he's lost a step; you can (theoretically) marginalize Rice; their RBs are not gamechangers; and their defense, I think, is a tad overrated. But Reid is awesome, and so is Mahomes - and a full crowd will be raucous. The allure of Baltimore is them essentially being off since New Year's Eve. And I'd rather face Lamar than Mahomes. But they have a very good defense; Justin Tucker is a gamechanger... It's a pick-your-poison choice, for sure.
He’ll get a contract that’s not gonna move the needle for the position. Antoine is likely gonna reset the value on what safeties get at the position. And if he’s smart he’ll hold out.
One of the things I REALLY love about Stroud is how active he is in engaging the city, the fans... he wants to create a special environment, and his many calls this year to show up, get loud - I love it. I don't think he's going to have to do it much next year, as I think the fans will come full-strength. And I don't blame ANY fans that are reluctant to return/embrace. But I love that he recognizes it and is working it. I want NRG to be a tough place to play. It's such an underrated advantage.
I just saw some Cleveland sports programs, for the sweet tears, and they said we must’ve saw some stuff on tape particularly their game against the Rams that showed us something about how to beat them. According to them Slowik decided to make Newsome our b&tch boy and attacked him by motioning Nico into the slot at the line. Like they feel bad Newsome. lol. anyway I think this week Slowik and Demeco will comb through the Rams vs Balt game. The Rams run a similar offense to us (Shanahan tree) and they almost beat the Raven at home. Like it went into OT.
It's Iike an alternate universe, other cities' writers using Houston as the example. For Chicago, I never liked that head coach, scheme wise. Not going to be a comfortable system for whoever they pick at 1. I like their defense.
Brian Thomas from LSU is a sleeper prospect and may be around a few spots up from where the Texans pick. He has the same measurables as Harrison Jr and maybe a tick faster than him too. He’s a monster
I don't know if this is one of the interviews but I've seen a couple that mentioned getting together with Anderson before preseason to talk about showing up the first time prepared to earn the respect and not expect it. How they needed to work at changing the culture here and how it was important. The same with Demeco in his interviews where he seems to refuse to talk about previous coaching staffs and other systems here. It is refreshing to see that accompanied by the talent.
