Pretty neat watching Kurt Warner, Dan Orlovsky, JT Sullivan, and Chase Daniel rave about how good CJ is. All former NFL QB's. Chase Daniels recent one was pretty damn good. Was talking about how quick CJ is getting through progressions and how complex the reads the Texans are making him make. Kid is a stud.
Need Slowik to open up the passing game and allow more downfield throws. Maybe its the receivers inability, besides broken coverage. Texans are playing conservative to protect Stroud, which makes sense with this OL so far, and asking him to get rid of the ball quickly. Even Stroud has said he's not fully comfortable yet, so he has a lot more in the bag he hasn't shown. Looking forward to this upcoming Saints game. Now that the coach basically called out Pierce, maybe he'll show up and run angry like last season.
You know that route adjustment was some backyard school yard s__t and I love the creativity. We've got something with that kid, just hope he stays grounded because money and hookers will be burying him soon.
First, we got the right QB. But for those who were wanting Richardson.....this guy seems to be made of paper.
Great character guy and looks like he could be really good if he has better health luck. I think Steichen has a great offense for his talents.
I thought he missed some throws today but if you add on all of the correct reads he got which led to pass interference calls then he had a solid game. Would have been something like 250 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT. If Schultz caught that pass.
He had several throw aways. Still having miscommunication issues on scrambles with his receivers. I thought once again, he played pretty well. The interception was weird. Watched it back a few times.. Looks like he assumed the LB was going to take the flat which was wide open, but the LB squeezed towards Schultz.
He had that issue one other time, I believe. Think it was the Falcons game. I think it was a great scheme/film study by the Saints. CJ has thrown enough slants with anticipation (and he excels at this), that I think the Saints (or that player) was keying on it, and saw something which enabled him to fool CJ on an anticipation throw. I don't think there was anything weird about it. Think it was a great football play by the linebacker, though CJ should have probably seen it, and would like that throw back, I'm sure. That said, I'm glad he got that monkey off his back. The offense was much better immediately after.
