One measures pure statistical information And the other measures situational statistical information. I’m not a fan of QBR
I wonder how much money Stroud has lost for the company that created that S2 cognitive test that got all the press pre-draft? Supposedly Stroud did horribly on that thing and it was all about processing information, which he seems to be REALLY good at so far. Gotta imagine that software company's stock is going down.
They are actually 2nd worst against the run, allowing over 151 yds per game, which might take some pressure off CJ if we are able to get our run game going too.
And some smart people just don't test well due to nerves, mental blocks and the like. This of coarse wasn't like some Chem test he could study for, but he seems to be an intelligent, serious and hard working guy, so who knows what happened. But unless the S2 guys can somehow factor for this, then I think you're correct about their test now taking a nose dive in it's ability for predicting future QB play.
Bryce Young scored a 98/99 on that S2 test for comparison sake. At the end of the day "its just football" and some guys are gamers and ballers not thinkers. I dont need a MENSA member to QB this team just someone who wont punk out under pressure and knows how to navigate a quarters defense and recognize the hot routes that will open up while blitzed.
Starts at the 2:00 min mark but Bill and the other guy say CJ should go first, reminds them of Dak, WRs look way better than they thought, Nico looks like a future star
I’m not sure I’ve ever been as excited about the potential future of the Texans as I am now having just watched The QB School on him. the detail to which he does every play is just so fantastic. And you really get to appreciate just how advanced and polished CJ seems to be as a passer and game manager. You REALLY get to appreciate his anticipation. I remembered watching the Collins drop one live when they showed the replay and my mind was likely holy **** what a ****ing pass - albeit dropped. In slow motion you really get to see the anticipation on the throw is just insanely good. And he puts it right on the money in crazy tight coverage. Another of his top throws to me - also dropped - the scramble to the right into the end zone to the te that was dropped. I’m sorry. That’s basically a perfect pass. Pretty close at least. Hard catch but a good tight end is catching that. then sideline out with anticipation as his second read in a collapsing pocket right in the money. A deep bomb in between three defenders right on the money. a “simple” check down done perfectly getting you 10 yards. I love this kids poise in the pocket, as a game manager, his accuracy, his anticipation…. I really just enjoy watching him play football. so so so hope it’s not just a flash in the pan (really doesn’t seem like it) and that instead we just see this plus improvement into prime years into a multi year top 5 qb, occasionally top 1-3 year in there. Seems possible at least … and that’s exciting.
The TE that dropped it, Dalton, stroud threw that ball before Schultz released so when he would turn around, the ball was right there. It was an insane throw that should have been caught
What’s also crazy, watching the break downs, I know the receivers are playing well getting separation, but can we maybe talks about it maybe being a little Bobby slowik? I don’t feel like I’ve ever seen players so effortlessly wide open. even in the good Watson years, everything was a chore to gain yards. Meanwhile whenever we played teams like chiefs, it just felt like receivers were always so wide open. I hope we struck gold with a play caller too.
