Aren't identical twins supposed to have identical physical attributes?

But maybe not the same work ethos.

I mean, I can understand twins having different skills because skills are mostly acquired after birth. But athleticism is supposed to be inborn, right?

Well, what do I know? No biggie.

I don't think it's their work ethic, all evidence suggests that they were both working equally hard. I think the difference mainly lies in what each twin focused on. Amen got the majority of the on-ball reps, which left Ausar to focus on finishing plays and playing defense. Different roles both mentally and physically causing them to develop in different ways.

The Thompson Twins are the only ones that come to mind, so close in ability.

Consider if one twin never played basketball or sports and played games all day every day and ate junk food. One of them would be athletic for that life style but still nothing compared to the other twin.

Take that and extrapolate it to one of them doing just a bit more than the other or having a injury that held you back here and there and the other one would still be ahead but by a much smaller margin. Both being exactly identical physically when they push as hard as they do is not probable if impossible.

My dad was a twin. So was my uncle.

Dad was tougher, uncle was more athletic.
Uncle was smarter, Dad was more accomplished.
Dad was more hot-headed, uncle was calmer (but only by degrees).

My grandfather and great-uncle were twins.
They were more or less the same guy but with different professional interests.

    I've got twin cousins.
They're both accomplished lawyers and have lived the same lives but in different cities.

So, I guess it varies between twins.

Genetics. Who really knows what is going on?

I don't believe identical twins are ever 100% identical, there are always slight differences.

For example, looking at combine measurements, Ausar Thompson actually has bigger hands than Amen Thompson (0.5" inch wider), and a slightly taller standing reach (0.5" inch taller).

If Ausar can have a hand width that is 9% wider than Amen, it's also possible for Amen to be 9% faster than Ausar, which is a world of difference.

    You have Alzheimer's?

What was your og claim? You made a relative comparison between two players.

Amen has to improve his slow down bag also. Are you saying he doesn't need to improve it? Jalen Green should be improving every aspect of his game.

My top 4 explosive players are: D-rose, Russ, Amen, and Lebron in this order.

I think one aspect that makes Amen "more athletic" in the mind of scouts is just that he is more athletic with the ball in his hands. It's one thing to be fast and agile and jump really high, it's another to do it while also dribbling the ball and keeping it away from the defender. That's basically what sold me on Amen pre-draft and the SL game only further confirmed just how incredible he is at getting to the rim. And he's doing it without a jumpshot.

Not really. They can start diverging epigenetically as soon as the birth canal if not sooner, as I understand it.

But yeah, you would think they would have very similar, say, vertical leaps and sprint speeds. But need not be identical based on their slightly different experiences in their first couple of decades out of the womb.
