[2023 NBA Draft/1-4] Amen Thompson, G, Overtime Elite

I'm really excited over Amen, I think he will be the best player in the draft and the rookie of the year..... The problem I'm currently having is what Givony thinks, I hope he likes Amen as much as he liked Sengun....

 

It’s pretty easy to fall back into old shooting habits when it’s what you’ve been doing your whole life. His shot is broken but I highly doubt it’s from lack of effort. Whether or not he can fix it remains to be seen.

I have a dumb question you guys maybe able to help me. I saw the interview with those two twins sitting together, I really can't distinguish who is who. Are you guys able to distinguish them?

 

It was nice seeing Amen and his brother looking clean and professional yesterday, and not like a cheap prostitute like Scoot and Dick.

 

I can, but I've been watching tons of videos with them for like a month. Hard to explain, but when you get used to their faces, you can tell Ausar vs Amen. Voices also a bit different.

I thought this too until I listened to the ESPN Daily podcast earlier this week on the twins and the OTE league. I’m less skeptical now honestly. It surely was risky but they have the drive, athleticism, talent, drive, BBIQ, really every intangible you could want, to excel. Listen to the podcast. Unorthodox route but I’m not holding it against them and FWIW there are several other FRP quality players in OTE. This coming from a huge college basketball fan who also understands that college bball couldn’t be a more different brand of basketball than NBA, too.

 

And they are draft eligible last year with a reclassify.

Something doesn't add up. Puts up 16 ppg as almost 21 year olds in a bush league.

Supposedly have godly work ethic, has been working their whole lives, but can't work to become an average shooter. Both hitting 60-something percent from FT showing a complete lack of shooting touch.

 

Yeah, Ausar has bigger/more open eyes than Amen. It's like he has a more expressive look.

 

Trillburger goes hard lol. Those lines suck hard though.

 

I could be wrong but, in terms of their shooting abilities they probably didn’t have proper coaching at younger ages to help them develop their jumpers.

When you’re genuinely in the 1% of athletes and all you have to do is drive and dunk to win games then most coaches won’t stop you until you get stopped by defenses.

Their work ethic got them to the NBA but, they probably could’ve used a bit more guidance on rounding out their offensive games. Thankfully we have shooting coaches who can help.

 

I don't think people realize how "bulky" Amen already is. He's bulked up quite a bit in the past 3 or so years. He's probably around 6'7" in shoes and around 215 lbs which would put him probably around 30-35 lbs. heavier than Jalen right now. He's basically Kenyon Martin, Jr.-sized with a 4-5" wider wingspan right now. If you look at the Twins, they look like skeletons with bulky muscle bolted onto them everywhere it's needed. lol.

 

Whata'cold'burger is trash now. It's sad, because I used to love whataburger, but they haven't been the same since they sold.. they're maximizing profit while their product has gone to **** by corner cuts.

Dairy Queen, Sonic, and Burger King are all better these days.

Holy geeze I really like this kid. I finally watched the interview and this kid has a great head on his shoulders. He's a 100% Cerebral player. The kid is built to be a star. If his wingspan is really 7' this kid is going to be a menace on the court. Amen and Jabari are going to be a very fun duo.
