We can't really know for sure, we can only speculate based on looking at him next to other players on the court. But to my eye he was clearly shorter than KPJ as a rookie and is clearly at least as tall as KPJ now, if not slightly taller.
I think Miles Bridges without the off court problems is the optimistic comp. The pure power scoring style, explosiveness, physical dimensions, passable shooting, and potential defensive ruggedness are a close match. Bridges definitely had more feel and general court sense when he came into the league, but he also did 2 years at Michigan State before getting drafted.
Miles Bridges seems closer than Ant Edwards for sure. To my eye, Cam plays much more like an undersized power forward than an oversized shooting guard. Bridges is a total POS though so I hope/expect Cam has better character than that.
I don't know, but Whitmore is even younger than they were. Supposedly Sengun has had a growing spurt.
Has been a lot of talk on Cam in the last couple of days on NBA radio. Mainly that he was a steal at 20. When discussing why he dropped, his potential medical issues, workouts and interviews were mentioned. Then a few mentioned his style of play. That he was known for tunnel vision. For blindly driving into multiple defenders and jacking it up, instead of making the easy dish off the drive. Not making the smart play. Sounded a lot like Porter ball. If true, hopefully he buys into Udoka's system and learns to make the right play. If so, I think he'll be really good.
Like I said, we can only look at pictures and speculate. Google Image Search stuff like "jalen green and kevin porter 2021" and look for yourself, then compare to 2023. Don't know if you're looking for fresh combine measurements or what... hate to break it to you, they don't do those on players already in the league For whatever it's worth, Jalen claims he's 6'6" now, but he could just be exaggerating to pump himself up. I think he's at least 6'5" in shoes though based on pictures.
6'7, 230lbs. Cam Whitmore is an undersized tweener. In any case, either the Rockets got a steal or we are about to find out the hard way why he really fell.
Cam set to dominate G-League and hopefully he’ll get more playing time than TyTy did last year…but I doubt it. He’s gonna be a stash. At 18 yrs old that’s fine.
Cam's health would be a priority, to be assessed/evaluated still young to afford being stashed until fully healthy and ready
Really don't understand what this means. He's either a typical sized wing/small forward or a jumbo sized sg.
I did not know that Jett Howard, another candidate was listed as a 6'8 shooting guard, that would mask his bad rebounding numbers.
Probabaly went with the best measurement he’s received. I know since I been an adult I been measured at 5”10, 5”11, and 6’0 and not in order of age lol
