Probably the best steal of the draft, I thought we should give legitimate consideration to picking this guy at 4 (although I ended up preferring Amen). This dude's only 18 years old and did some really special things this past season. He had by far the most potential of anyone here at 20, he could be a really legitimate force and top option on the team eventually. Also excited about the defensive potential of this team. Whitmore is good on ball and has the tools to be good off-ball and I bet Ime will work with him. And I think Amen will be a defensive force and easily switchable on to wings which will be great at PG. Add them to Tari and Jabari and that's 4 long switchable guys Now if we can just get their shooting down, then we could be really dangerous...
The greatest players find motivation and ways to push themselves to the highest level possible. If Whitmore can find that “chip” on his shoulder and work his ass off I think he can be a star. He has that kind of talent. Can’t wait to see what Udoka does with all of this talent at his disposal. We never “won” the actual lottery… but when it comes to pure collection of talent, I can’t recall another team accumulating as much talent in a 3 year span as the Rockets have the past 3 years. I think we have the right coach in place to really witness some beautiful growth which will translate to winning basketball.

I don't think anybody believed they'd see him out of the top 10 or so even after it was stated he was falling. Earlier this afternoon, I joked about him being drafted in the 2nd round the way rumors were spreading he was dropping in the first round. And I'll be damned if he almost didn't make it there. Crazy.
If making jokes about someone named Grady is the worst thing he done at 18 he is in fine shape. Ask Brandon Miller or Ja Morant.
