That 15th pick goes to OKC though
So what if they both make the playoffs which it looks like they are. What pick does the Rockets get

This is becoming a complex algorithm to follow each day's action now!!

Need GSW to win over Dallas
    Need Minny to win
Need to root for the Lakers later (yuck)

In just 2 weeks the regular season will be over and we'll know what the pick is unless it's in the lottery. Which means they both failed to make the playoffs.

why do we want Warriors to win? Dallas is basically in the same boat

It's happened now, but it wasn't quite the same boat - GSW already had 1 win more, so were a fraction ahead, and Dallas has been a bit of a mess. But you're right, they had the same losses, so either way was good.

Goal is that both of the Clippers and OKC are in the play-in, and with the extra hope that they can fall into the 9 v 10 slots (unlikely given OKC has one of the easiest runs home). Today went well.

Would that be the best case scenario where both teams don’t make the playin or playoffs? Causing us to get a higher draft pick between the 2?

Probably, but it does add in a slight chance that one or both wins a high lottery pick, in which case the pick would be protected and we wouldn't get it. The "safe" thing would be for them to end up like #14 and #15 in the draft (so we'd get #15 which is just outside the lottery). Not that the Rockets have any control over any of it.

I didn't know that. Please explain why is that so? I thought it's protected 1-6, leaving the rest for the Rockets.

    The pick is

1-6 stays with LAX (HOU gets MIL pick)
    7-30 (complex)
OKC gets the better of their pick or LAX.
HOU then gets the better of the remaining pick and the MIL pick

Perhaps in his statement he is assuming OKC finishes with a better record than LAX?
(They might - their schedule is among the easiest)

    Next set of (relevant) games

(Cleveland over Brooklyn) - not relevant to LAX pick, but if they maybe finish 7th or lower and miss the play in we get 0.5% more chance at Wemby

    New Orleans to beat Charlotte
Anyone to lose out of OKC or LAX (odd opinion, but LA winning may be better here given they have a harder schedule and no George the rest of the way)

Stone at least made the end of the season interesting for Rockets fans the first time.
