Looks like Levy's final farewell to me. Delaying the deal, so Kane can't play tomorrow against Leipzig (has to be registered until 1500 CET today to be eligible).
On one hand, I'm happy for Kane that he gets a real chance at silverware. On the other hand, it's karl malone and Gary Payton to the Lakers soft. The only way it could be softer is if he went to PSG. Bayern were likely to win their 345th consecutive Bundesliga title with or without him. Couldn't be an easy decision to leave behind the chance to be the EPL all-time goal scorer.
Unless injuries make him retire early, he can do it pretty comfortably imo. Only needs 47 goals and the contract at Bayern is for 4yrs, so he'll come back to the Premier League at age 34 and do it in 2-3 seasons. Also think Bayern is his best shot at the CL title, outside of Real (Man City don't need him and all other Premier League teams are clearly below the teams I mentioned).
As a United fan, the prospect of what he could do with Rashford and Bruno, et al, could've made them serious contenders. But no way Levy is selling to United and it would've been bad business to allow him to walk away for nothing after this season.
Good signing, Tuchel to me will be the problem, I thought he got worse as a coach. Munich turning into Real Madrid is probably a new sight to behold.
Kinda feel the opposite, he's got much more pragmatic now and immediately sorted out guys like Goretzka and Mane. During his Chelsea tenure, many fans said he clung to established players that performed bad. Also was pretty quick in going back to a functional 4-2-3-1 and giving us a new identity (solid defense and more possession).
Correct, did not watch many Chelsea games but he had a lot of 1-0 or 2-1 wins. Or in reverse 1-2. Was not pretty.
As of now, adding Tuchel has been a mistake. He had a full camp and the defense still commits the same easy mistakes, literally every game we receive a ridiculous handball penalty and the lineups become more and more questionable. Hope he proves me wrong.
He has a good track record with Final games and elimination but also some blunders where you scratch your head. Kane is different than Erling Haaland or even Lewandowski, he is not as mobile IMHO.
I think the lineup adjustments he's made (benching Goretzka, going back to 4-2-3-1 and more possession, getting rid of Mane) have been good. But as he's said, this team desperately needs a holding 6 to close the huge gaps that persist between the midfield and defense, there's just a huge roster imbalance. The bosses really need to realize that this midfield isn't up to top standards and that guys like Kimmich, Goretzka and Neuer (waiting for the comeback of a 37.5yr old with two severe injuries within 2yrs is just too risky) have just way too big of a lobby, you can't cling to the mantra of "FC Bayern Deutschland" if the available player material just isn't good enough with this current generation. The same goes for Sane and Gnabry last season, but they imo have improved a ton in the past games and seem to be able to help the team. Yesterday was unfortunately a mix of Tel being a deer in the headlights in front of the goal, a very bad referee and the mentioned imbalance (again, we need a holding 6) leading to avoidable goals conceded. I still think what Tuchel does is a much more solid approach to bring back more stability and a less up&down style (under Nagelsmann we even had zero ball control vs relegation teams), so the board has to finally wake up now and realize that some harsh roster decisions have to be made. Nagelsmann was partially a victim of the lobby our German players have and didn't have the balls to bench Goretzka or Gnabry when they underperformed heavily, no coaching replacement will help this team. And ffs, Kimmich has to admit he's not a 6 and was magnitudes better as a right back or 8. If he isn't willing to play how the coach wants him to and adapt, he should have no future in this team. The "Ich bin ein Sechser " statement in preseason was just embarrassing.
