Would've deserved his own thread. Now that Uwe Seeler, Gerd Müller and Franz are gone, we have lost the three best players in German football history - and Beckenbauer was the greatest. About time to name the Munich stadium after him.

    RIP Legend

This a good move for Bayern? Wonder if INEOS will swoop him up for United after stealing away City Group's director of football to be CEO.

I don't think it's because he was bad, it was just because they are hiring Max Eberl (Hoeness decision) and still have Christoph Freund. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

    This could actually happen.

I sincerely doubt he will take any job at least for a year. Maybe he'd do it for 2026.

My hopes are high because he said several times that coaching the German national team was a life goal. And when the job is open in summer (don't think Nagelsmann will remain over the EURO), it might be closed for quite some time when someone else gets the gig.
Klopp mentioned similar reasons when he left Dortmund and took over Liverpool in September - which would be around the time for the first international window next season.

Certainly after the Euros it's possible...though I'm sure if they want him and he wants them, they'll allow for him to take more time off before taking over. WC qualifying for UEFA doesn't start until next March or later depending on the group they get drawn into. They wouldn't need him in there until September 2025.

This hurts.... I honestly didn't see it coming. The timing might be right for Xabi Alonso to come in, but I'm not sure how well the current personnel will fit into his system.

Gutted. We all knew the day would come eventually but I think we all thought it was several years away. It's hard to quantify the impact he had on the club.

Valid point. If Klopp commits to take over in March 2025 (or even later), there's no way the German federation signs someone else.

Bayern lost Coman to injury today, that's the fourth player in one week. On the positive side, Leverkusen dropped two points at home, Bayern with a hard fought victory. Top match between the two in two weeks.
