I think there’s a lot of evidence that sitting still can often times be better than making a deal for the sake of making a deal.

I'm glad the Dodgers didn't sit still and got Josh Fields.

Care to point out which contenders are sitting still?

Can they get the deal done without Bell/Hosmer included?

Then the Nats can just trade Bell to someone else.

I am excited to see the NL playoffs now for the Padres and Dodgers NLCS meeting. Should be fun.

For a team that was playing hardball, it sure doesn't seem like they were by giving away Bell and taking back Hosmer money.

That seems like the things the pressing team should have added.

Watch the Padres blow up their team in a year or so... just to win a World Series.

I'm tired of teams going broke for one year (maybe two at most) and then selling off. Marlins did it, Royals did it (in a way as they decided not to pay their guys), Nats did it.

I feel real good about Alvarez and the Astros outliers that they didn't trade away.

The padres have until the end of 2024 to pull it off, its not as dire as you make it sound.

Nats just won theirs at the very end of a 6 year window, that team was getting blown up regardless.

Royals and Marlins are just cheap franchises with shoddy ownership.

Soto and Bell, figured it would be the Dodgers who did it.

    Big D Hosmer.

Can Houston still go in and grab Bell?

I would take Hosmer with a few more prospects for sweetner...

Might be able to utilize for a centerfielder withbus taking on the contract..

    3 way deal?

Hosmer rejected the deal, which theoretically means Washington needs to send "more" value to compensate for not eating some of Hosmers contract.

This deal is getting done somehow, don't see why Bell would come out of the deal.

Padres fans have been wanting to get rid of Hosmer for years and y’all want him? He’s got a PO for the next 3 years lol. Hard pass.

Wish Click could have stole Soto by offering Tucker and prospects.
