Can’t get excited about Gannon at all, so that means he’ll probably get the job.

Talent matters.. unfortunately Robert Saleh is going through that now with the Jets when there is none on the team. Whatever situation Demeco goes to I hope the organization knows that’s the case.

All the more reason to hire McCown. Let's lean into this ineptitude REAL hard.

I'm paying the long game here.

This is brilliant and I'm mad at myself for not thinking of it first.

I know the lawsuit by Demeco wasn’t specifically targeting “people” within the Texans culture and I’m sure he’d happily take a HC interview but have to believe one side or the other at least has the issue in the back of their mind.

Demeco knows that the Texans are run by morons. If I were him I wouldn’t even take the Texans interview. I doubt he is interested in being Hc for this team.

No matter how much u want to HC a team. for aspiring great folks that want a chance of a lifetime to b HC, dont take one here. Gonna crash and burn like Culley. Wait patiently for other openings.

That can be said with any franchise not just the Texans. Usually the the teams that have openings have some roster issues that lack some talent.

If im in it for the money, sure.
But if any aspiring coaches really want to have a career as an NFL HC, taking a job here is career suicide.

I’m prepared to cringe and then bang my head against the wall later this week when it’s announced that Josh McCown is getting a 2nd interview. I have no idea if he will make a good HC. You never really know until someone gets an opportunity.

It’s just the optics, man. Everyone knows McCown and Easterby are close and have “bonded over religion”. Caserio had an interview over the radio and basically completely dismissed Easterby having any say over football decisions(since Caserio arrived here)…. Yet, Easterby was seen in the draft war room. He’s clearly pushing for guys to get HC interviews.

This is Caserio’s shot to show that HE is the one calling shots and running things. I just really don’t want to think about or deal with one of Easterby’s Christian buddies being handpicked to be the HC.

By the way, after what DeMeco Ryans’ defense did to Green Bay? At Lambeau? Idgaf about what type of lawsuit DeMeco filed against the Texans- the way Cal has **** money out since Bob died, I’m sure he could give a **** less about that money. Give him an interview at a minimum.

Im pretty much on board with anyone but McCown. Let him be the QB coach and let him work his way up the ladder if he wants to be a HC eventually. Just don’t hand this dude the damn job because he volunteers to flip pancakes at bible studies and listens to Jack’s “great value Joel Osteen” bullshit.

    Ok, rants over

Eberflus (and others?) declined our interview last year, for whatever that's worth.

Not sure why people think that the ONLY reason McCown would get a shot is because of religion. I get it that the optics are bad. I get it that Easterby is a preacher and McCown is religious.

But did you see the responses from current players when McCown was interviewed? Did you know that McCown is considered a super smart guy and lives and breathes football and has since his Sam Houston days? Did you know that McCown played for about 20 different years under probably 6 or 8 coaching regimes (a guess), and probably soaked up as much knowledge as any player in the league during that time? Or that he's been a de facto coach in the league for 4 years or so now?

    I'm just saying, calm down.

I hope we hire him and change our names to the Crusaders.

Look, "super smart," or not, I don't think being an NFL head coach should be your first coaching job. That's the lowest of bars.
