I hope he isn't. Just because a bunch of people in the NFL like him and think he will be a good coach doesn't mean he will be. The Texans are too bad of a franchise to take a chance on an unproven coach. They already had that chance with Culley and it was a failure.
Soooo, Nick had just "dismissed" his "guy" (after ONE season) who possessed zero experience as a coordinator or head coach in the NFL and your "solution" is that they should have hired a guy with zero coaching experience outside of high school to be a head coach in the NFL. Rick James was right:
Sean Payton anyone??? https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...along-im-interested-in-returning-to-coaching/
Yeah but we have a lot of work to do to entice somebody like him. I will gladly take one of his disciples in Joe Brady tho Texans where high on him as well. He’s currently QB coach for the Bills
Yeah I can see that too but I think Jerry likes big splashes and while that will be a big splash hiring a former player with no experience. I think he will go after Sean Payton they have been flirting with the idea in the past.
Joe Brady, who failed as Panthers' OC? LOL. A guy who may be good...at some point...but is not ready to lead an organization.
He bumped heads with Matt Rhule over philosophy. The Texans where reported as being very interested in him and he even blew his interview out the water. He’s a Sean Payton disciple He had teddy b as his QB and CMC got injured that year as well. And now he’s learning under McDermott and Ken Dorsey. And remember that’s why Caserio gets paid the big bucks like you said.
Reportedly So was Flores I wouldn’t put too much stock into who was a finalist or whatever because the whole process was crazy.
What a joke of a fan base. Just a few weeks ago before the season started y'all were praising Lovie Smith saying he was a good hire...
The one mark against Caserio has been how he has handled the coaching search. Lovie may be a transitional coach, but they can't cut bait on him after one year. It's too disruptive.
What crock of **** lol That article is absolute lunacy A guy that works for one season as his own children's personal quarterback coach, at the high school level, is unequivocally unqualified to be a head coach in the National Football League. END OF DISCUSSION. If he is even serious about coaching in the future, then join someone's staff, at ANY level at all, for ANY period of time. Then go from there.
Sure they can, and I feel they might just do that if the Texans get a high draft pick. They're gonna pick a QB probably, and most likely they'll want the new coach to feel involve in narrowing down that QB. Texans are hardly in any sense of stability, so how can it be disruptive if Lovie is fired?
That’s part of the reason I don’t see them picking a QB this year. There’s no sure fire generational pick at QB.
One dark horse candidate is… Frank Ross John Carroll alumni Worked in scouting department with Caserio in New England From Ohio Went to Indy with McDaniels till he backed out but he stayed in Indy Coached at John Carroll Lots of coaches in NFL where special teams coaches John Harbaugh
Lovie is fine…the players love him and clearly play hard for him. He is the right guy for the culture change they are aiming for. Pep however has to get it going. This offense is way too predictable. Every time they go to the bunch formation or bring in the FB it’s guaranteed to be a run up the middle for either a loss or a minimal gain. Why not keep Cooks in and take your chance with a 1 on 1 match up or hit the TE or FB in the flat if they are matched up against a LB? Just mix it up a little…
