I wonder if Tucker is batting 6th because Altuve needs plate appearances. I love Uncle Mike. I think he more than made his contract already, and I hope he plays the same this year. I do worry that he'll start to show his age more making it even more enticing for other teams to go with a loogy against him batting 2nd if Dusty keeps him there, Alvarez, and whichever RHB is batting 3rd. I really don't understand not batting Tucker leadoff? Is he too good of a hitter while Altuve isn't? Is it because Dusty doesn't want anyone on base in front of Altuve that is a stolen base threat so Altuve doesn't get as many fastballs to put in the Crawford Boxes?
Yeah... stupid Baker. Imagine thinking about starting a player (in a limited sample size of 50 plate appearances) that hit over .300 and had an OPS of .950+.
Rumor - McCormick has been traded for Hayden Finch of the Mongolian Marauders of the Asian Baseball League.
Your best overall batter normally bat's 3rd or 4th. But splitting the three lefties in a right heavy lineup presents problems hitting them early. Brantley, Alvarez and Tucker are all worthy of batting early - 2,4 and 6. Right now, Alvarez is entrenched at 4 but as the season progresses it may shift.
I love how he was tagged out, majority left the field, and the runner is still standing there thinking, "What the hell happened?"
Baez reported throwin 87-89. Even with the “lack of adrenaline” factor, that’s not a good sign. I’ll defer to the FO but I don’t expect anything from him. Luckily Houston has enough good arms their BP should be fine but I would predict Baez will end up as dead money, cut loose in a couple months.
