Admittedly he's no Pat Bev taking Russian batteries off his dome, but soft? C'mon man, he didn't get to where he's at by being soft.
I absolutely LOVE Eason's game. It's super early, but his intangibles look like they'll transfer to the big stage, and offensively he's much more adept than I thought he was going to be. For Smith, I thought he played poor offensively, not because of the missed shots, but because of how often he gives up on his dribble. He has to trust his handle and give it a shot. He might get it stolen away, but he can't keep taking two dribbles or trying to shoot over people. When he has size on people, he needs to take advantage of those matchups, take other guys into the basket, and not settle for contested deep jumpers. Those are low percentage looks and he too often settles for them instead of trying to punish the defender. I am hoping going forward that the coaching staff doesn't just prioritize Smith getting touches, but him putting the ball on the floor to make moves. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't seen anything spectacular out of Nix yet. He too often tries to go for the acrobatic finish intstead of kicking it out to the open man, and his free throw shooting absolutely has to improve. Tyty on the other hand is really intriguing, and he reminds me a bit of a poor mans Tyrese Maxey.
I am ready for Summer league to end i want pre season i want to see the starters and how many open looks Jabari will get.
I think I’m gonna take the +4000 bet on the rockets to win the Summer League championship. Why not? The fact that Portland has the same odds means Vegas in underrating our squad. Let’s hope the coaching rises to the same level of the talent.
This kid can flat out hoop. Vipers should have another really good team with Hudgins, Tyty, Garuba, etc.
It’s +6000 right now !! Why are so low ? I’m confused . This team is getting better every game they play… also how are the playoff teams determined with just 4 games played ? I haven’t figured that part out yet
My thoughts exactly. These guys seem to have gotten what they needed out of the Summer League, which is confidence and a feel for the NBA pace. They seem ready for the next level.
