From the NBA rulebook: "The hand is considered “part of the ball” when it is in contact with the ball. Therefore, contact on that part of the hand by a defender while it is in contact with the ball is not illegal." SOURCE Based on the quality of available replays, it seems like Paolo simultaneously hit ball and Queda's left thumb area, above the wrist (which was in contact with the ball). Hence the foul being overturned. If he'd hit lower down on the wrist (which wasn't in contact with the ball), then it would have been a foul by the letter of the law.
Based on what you're saying, that was a foul I guess? Either way the refs ruled what they ruled. The big name got the call once again. Thanks michael jordan!
Keegan Murray looking like the right call for the Kings. He wouldn't have been a stretch at #3, IMO. Complete package on opening night. He's a hooper.
Kind of crazy how the Warriors somehow have multiple top prospects on their team. Good to see McClung ball out too, feel like he's going to find his place in the NBA eventually.
Kuminga also looked really good. And Moody scored 30+ in their last game. Should we be stacking up Poole, Kuminga, Wiseman and Moody to what the Rockets and Pistons have for young cores? Kinda ridiculous.
both kuminga and wiseman showed their athleticism that everyone already knew they had when they were drafted. wiseman has been a pro for 3 yrs and kuminga is 2nd yr - he should be doing good. but kuminga is still a terrible shooter and had horrific shooting percentages in both games. wiseman still shows absolutely no bball iq and feel for the game and had 7 fouls yesterday. both guys have not improved one bit since they were drafted and i wouldn't want to touch either with a ten foot pole. not sure why there is such thirst for these two players...
Watched his NCAA tape before the lottery and honestly never got why he wasn't in convo for at least 2nd or 3rd pick (although Windhorst or Vecenie said they know an NBA executive who had him at #1), it's silly that him being 1-2yrs older than Jabari and Ivey etc turned his stock lower. Very complete player and is a much safer pick (but still with great upside) than these guys, instantly ready to contribute well.
