No awe or fear with Lofton. Then again, he played with Holmgren on that U19 team in 2020. I suspect they saw each other in practice. Lofton was a steadying presence for that team, and the pair of them tried to slow down VW.
Right, he performed well against VW. Strong with a lower center of gravity. Has some skill for a tubby guy. Chet needs that, has to learn how to defend guys getting into his body that can move their feet. Kofi couldn’t do anything because he doesn’t have the feet
I recall we saw this with the Rockets last year. The league is a grind for 20-year-olds (or 19-year-olds on last year's Houston squad).
Yeah...as much as I like Chet...Dude is going to have to get a lot stronger...He is going to get Deee---Stroyed but some of the top bigs in the league this season until he gets some strength...
Are we talking about the Jazz summer league team? That team only had one drafted player, and he's a 2nd rounder, 40th pick. Every other player on that roster is undrafted summer league invites.
They aren't NBA caliber players though, they're all undrafted summer league invitees. Kofi Cockburn is literally just a college player, he went undrafted this draft. Tacko Fall is the closest thing there is to competition, but I'm really not sure he even qualifies since he's a 27 year old that played a total of 200 minutes in the NBA. I reckon a college team would have been better competition for the Thunder yesterday, at least there is chemistry, coaching and months of training.
Alright, where the highlights at? I need to see the thiccest player in the NBA up against the slimmest.
Again, NBA caliber players. The fact that they’re on a summer league team at all says they’re better than run of the mill college players. Kofi and Fall are some of the biggest bodies Chet will face. NBA caliber and good NBA players are two different things. Butler was drafted. Sneed, Caboclo, Fall and Robinson have all played in the league. Cockburn should have been drafted. Either way, it’s not elite talent but it’s better than most college programs.
Maybe we have a different definition of NBA caliber players, because I wouldn't consider undrafted summer league invites NBA caliber players. You can dig up a random player from any Euro-league or Turkish League, and they'd be more qualified competition.
Haha that's great, I love this Lofton guy already. Probably won't be more than a fun bench player but he's going to have his share of fans.
sometimes things happen that haven’t happened before. Some of those times folks can assign a higher probability of that thing happening even though it hasn’t happened yet. the rationale behind that probability may or may not be crap. You believe it to be crap in this case. However it is in no way random… there is a rationale being used. I personally think it mostly crap but with a smidgen of logic. as I said I would have drafted him #1
